Please Mr. Gunman Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Please Mr. Gunman
Before you go out on your spree
Please Mr. Gunman
I'd like to make a humble request
Before you kill us, dead forever
Please Mr. Gunman, consider our after-life

[Chorus]
We'd rather die in church
We'd rather die in church
We'd rather die in church

[Verse 2]
At the mall
We'll consume our material things
In our school
We're learning evolution
Inside the nightclub, we are drunk with pleasure

[Bridge]
At church on Sunday
We pray for forgiveness
At church on Sunday
We pray for forgiveness
In church on Sunday
We're ready to go to heaven

[Chorus]
We'd rather die in church
We'd rather die in church
We'd rather die in church

[Guitar Solo]
Please Mr. Gunman
Since there's no stopping you
Please Mr. Gunman
Don't be an inconsiderate prick

[Chorus]
We'd rather die in church
We'd rather die in church
We'd rather die in church
We'd rather die in church
Where my god, to be

This is obviously a stab at religion, a sort of fuck the church anthem. It sounds really edgy but its really witty. In the second verse he talks about how modern churchgoers can basically get out of sin free by praying for forgiveness. he also jokes about how serious church people are kind of weird, but totally just sticking it to religion.
