I think the song is about the process of one\'s growth, learning to take the pain and accept it to become stronger rather than run and hide from it. we see in the music video that this happens through the presumed Marciano going against his father\'s ways, wanting to run and hide from responsibility but in his actions, he loses a loved one and has to face the grief in many ways, eventually having to muster up the will and maturity to put his beloved companion out of its misery. through this, he gets closer to his father and gains his spot on the throne. I think the parallel to this in the real world with Vinnie Paz and his son in the video (meaning outside of the storybook) is the mutual fight against the pain of separation, but in the end, they too become closer and learn to take the pain with grace and accept it as an essential part of life.
