In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
It's Moth Flight
Back again
Moth Flight
Back with another song
Why can't the leaders
Listen
To us medicine cats
It's not like we're rats
We're not bird-brains
You think I'm out there
Daydreaming all day
That's not the case
It's not a race
We're going to find prey anyway
Who discovered the Moonstone
With all that daydreaming?
I followed that moth
And it was against your will
But it was for the good of the Clans
Isn't that what you care about, Wind Runner?
I mean your my mother!
Snap at me all you want
I won't me listening
And I won't be hissin'
This is my discovery
And mine alone
I saw the spirit-cats
And they told me to go
You think StarClan likes your ignorance?
So please listen
Otherwise they'll be hissin'
And you'll have a bad life
And I don't want
You to have that
It will be horrible
And it will happen, I assure you
Do you want the territory to be destroyed, Clear Sky?
The only thing you seem to care about is borders
Can't you see it in my eyes?
I'm a trusting cat
And I just need to heal my Clanmate
This is my discovery
And mine alone
You can't find the Moonstone on your own
Just keep the tone of your voice
I won't be listening
And I won't be hissin'
All they seem to care about is
Battle, battle
Fight, fight
Somebody turn out the light, light
Of hate
They need to use their common sense
Common, common sense
One day
I may not be around
To tell you this is what you should do
You need to listen to their word and mine
Then you'll all be fine
Do you think this all happened because of your ignorance?
I think so, think so
You little ignorant cats
You all need to listen to me
I'm not mouse-brained
I'm not bird-brained
I'm not hare-brained
I'm not like you
There is something different about me
You should listen
This is my discovery
And mine alone
You can't take it from me
It's mine
You're my sharers of the territory
That I will share
Maybe
If you stop caring that much about borders

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
Plastic Bag

“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
