KILL4ME Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Let's grab a gold switch blade
And make us a blood pact, babe
To love and to fuck and to only see ourselves
And remember this
[Pre-Chorus]
Your hotel hall won't be so vacant
And I can tell that you ain't faking
Because I take death threats
Like the best of them
[Chorus]
Would you kill, kill, kill for me?
I love you enough to ask you again
Would you kill, kill, kill for me?
You won't be kissing me unless you kill for me
Kill, kill, kill for me
[Verse 2]
Bloody noses are just like roses
But what happens when we are betrayed?
Won't you drag him to the shed
And unload six rounds in their fucking face?
This is a sacrifice
[Pre-Chorus]
Your hotel hall won't be so vacant
And I can tell that you ain't faking
Because I take death threats
Like the best of them
[Chorus]
Would you kill, kill, kill for me?
I love you enough to ask you again
Would you kill, kill, kill for me?
You won't be kissing me unless you kill for me
[Bridge]
Sideways for attention, longways for results
Who are you going to cross?
Sideways for attention, longways for results
Who are you going to cross?
Sideways for attention, longways for results
Who are you going to cross?
[Chorus]
Would you kill, kill, kill for me?
I love you enough to ask you again
Would you kill, kill, kill for me?
I love you enough to ask you again
Would you kill, kill, kill for me?
You won't be kissing me unless you kill for me
Kill, kill, kill for me
Kill, kill, kill for me
[Outro]
Sideways for attention, longways for results
Who are you going to cross?
Let's grab a gold switch blade
And make us a blood pact, babe
To love and to fuck and to only see ourselves
And remember this
Your hotel hall won't be so vacant
And I can tell that you ain't faking

I personally think it’s about a peculiar divorced woman that takes her relationships very seriously, all she asks for is honesty and loyalty and her new love interest is given the task of killing her previous with the gun she gave him and it’s an example for those who betray her
I think this is a romanticised version of what happened in the charles manson family killings... I mean they (boys and girls) literally killed for charles manson... The whole 60's were a very crazy decade... And ended with a dramatic touch of blood shed
listened to the album and I'm not loving it, I'm disappointed in the lack of catchy numbers, loved pale emperor, especially cupid carries a gun, but, maybe it'll grow on me, probably not, and I'm a Marilyn Manson fan, sorry Brian, lost it, er, long awaited and not his best, todD
This song is amazing!
I love it!
I think this song has many possible meanings:
"Sideways for attention, longways for results" fits to all three meanings:
Also in life itself you can take the easy way or the long and hard way for a lasting success.
I can see this song having multiple meanings, I think a lot lf Manson’s songs do.
I sort of disagree about this song being about love, I could be wrong but to me it seems like it is about fake love, or about how people are confused about what love actually is. So yes, maybe the ‘theme’ is about love, but the song is not.
“Let's grab a gold switchblade And make us a blood pact, babe To love and to fuck and to only see ourselves And remember this”
I see this as two people playing games with their emotions. They are throwing caution to the wind and are getting into something that they can’t possibly know the extent of. I think it goes back to the divorce rate, and how fast people fall in and out of love in relationships. Instead of taking it slow and building a relationship that will stand the test of time, we just throw ourselves into it with a carefree spirit. Like here, I will give you sex, my emotions, all of these parts of me, and not worry about the consequences, of how I could hurt you, how you can hurt me.
“Your hotel-heart won't be so vacant And I can tell that you ain't faking Because I take death threats Like the best of them”
Your hotel heart won’t be so vacant if I stay in it for awhile, but who knows how long that will be. I can tell that you’re not faking because you claim to want to be with me, and you make promises, and you seem very passionate. I take this seriously because I always think that ‘this’ has to be the one, which is only disguised as a death threat. I just don’t know it yet, because I am distracted by thinking that you love me. Or alternatively a relationship can be seen as a death threat, once your emotions are involved, it is really easy to blackmail you emotionally, “well if you don’t do this, I will break up with you,” or you tell them your deepest secrets, fears, bare your soul to them, and because they never really cared about you, they can now hurt you (possibly manipulate-though that can even be done with the best of intentions) in whichever way they choose.
“Would you kill, kill, kill for me? I love you enough to ask you again Would you kill, kill, kill for me? You won't be kissing me unless you kill for me Kill, kill, kill for me“
I sort of see this as getting your needs met. You need to connect with someone emotionally or have something sexually and it becomes this negotiation, “well I’ll only be true to you if you put a ring on it” or “oh if you want me to do that in the bedroom, I am going to need A, B, and C, and after that, I will make you jump every hoop all the way to Z. Then I will think about doing what you want.”
It could also mean that after you have been let down by so many people in your life, who claim to love you, but really don’t, that you now have much higher standards. You don’t want to be unreasonable, or difficult, but you now what you will or will not put up with in your life or relationships. It isn’t about lust, or puppy love anymore, if you want me, than you better put as much work into as I am going to.
“Bloody noses are just like roses But what happens when we are betrayed? Would you drag them to the shed And unload six rounds in their fucking face? This is a sacrifice“
Roses seem to be a common theme in Manson’s songs and I have always wondered what exactly they represent for him.
In this song I see it as in a relationship a partner might give you a lot of roses over that span of time, but in an unsuccessful relationship, they can be given just as easily as you are hurting each other in the relationship. Love and hate are two sides of the same coin. As much as you love someone and give them your heart, they can hurt you just as much, and you go from being happy with them one second, to wanting to hurt them the next. Fights are common, but when you are constantly fighting things go south very quickly and become messy.
I can also see it, as “yep I fucked up again, I hurt you, here are some roses to make it better, so we’re just good now, right? Okay, cool, I love you.” “yeah, love you too.” They’re hollow words, the problem wasn’t resolved it will happen again.
Then, okay so we know we are going to have issues, but what happens when we are betrayed? We will be hurt and all of this will be for nothing. This is part of the sacrifice of trying to make it work with someone.
I think the unloading six rounds and dragging them to the shed might be shutting up everyone who doubts your love relationship. You are breaking away from them, or simply not listening. I’m not entirely sure, again it could mean many different things.
“Would you kill, kill, kill for me? I love you enough to ask you again Would you kill, kill, kill for me? You won't be kissing me unless you kill for me”
I see the line I love you enough to ask you again to be about taking advantage of the relationship. Especially if the person really only cares about material. The wife says “buy me this car” for example, and the husband says no, and then later he says he loves her or something, and then she pulls the “if you loved me you would buy me that car.” And because she thinks he is truly the one, and thinks she really loves him, she will give him a chance to answer the question again, ‘correctly’ (in her mind).
Lately I have been toying with the idea that it could be about God, so many deaths are in the name of God, because people feel that they are doing God’s bidding, or what they think God has asked of them. So God is saying if you love me, if you want to get into heaven will you kill for me?
“Sideways for attention, longways for results Who are you going to cross?”
I sort of see this being sexual, having plain, neutral, vanilla sex will keep you happy for a short period of time. But long ways, let’s really have fun, get to know each other, really learn what each other likes, then we will actually have results in our relationship.
Who are you going to cross makes me think of God again, what will you do to prove yourself worthy to God?
My two cents.
@SilverSurfer I also like the interpretation about a bad romance like "If you really love me you have to do this and that to prove it".

obvious self harm references: sideways for attention: meaning you cut your wrist horizontally which presents little to no risk of death, for the attention. longways for results: vertical cuts for when you're attempting suicide, goal is to die, so you do what gets you results
It's about a girl with Marilyn Manson and he wants her to be like and do thing for him if their going to be together.
