Rebound (Teenage Bottlerocket cover) Lyrics
It’s a shame that you don’t know me cause I never made it past the third string
My coach never gave me a chance he’s always blowing his whistle at me
Put me in your game and I promise not to shoot a three I’ll stick with twos
I don’t wanna make a steal unless you make a pass I’ll never personal foul you
Did you have to give your boyfriend all my letters
I didn’t know he was six foot eight
He shoved me inside a locker and I ended up on the rebound
I called time out it was too late
[repeats]
My coach never gave me a chance he’s always blowing his whistle at me
Put me in your game and I promise not to shoot a three I’ll stick with twos
I don’t wanna make a steal unless you make a pass I’ll never personal foul you
I didn’t know he was six foot eight
He shoved me inside a locker and I ended up on the rebound
I called time out it was too late

This song is a cover of a song originally recorded by Teenage Bottlerocket. Rob Caggiano explained to Metal Hammer: "We took them out on one of our European tours on the last album cycle and they're a really awesome band. They very much have the spirit of the Ramones in their music and we love that vibe. Rebound is a song that we all love, too. The lyrics are great, and it's really funny and really catchy. We'd talked about covering it in the past, but for whatever reason we never got around to it. We got the news while we were in the studio that their drummer [Brandon Carlisle] had died, and that really hit us hard. So we learnt the song and recorded it as a tribute to those guys. That's the story with this song."
