The Devil's Bleeding Crown

I think 4 anonymous posters on lyricinterpretations.com got it pretty close. Here's what they wrote:

My own take, after having read all of those interpretations and more, is that this song is kind of an anthem, where the key lines are actually, "Raise your hands, what do you hold? The Devil's bleeding crown!", where the bleeding crown is a combination of references to: 1) victory over satan & his legion of fallen angels in that lendendary 2nd to last verse (including "Close the door and hear all the angels scream "Oh mercy, mercy, mercy, oh mercy, please!"") ; 2) Jesus' crucifixion; and (of course), 3) all of us who ever raised our hands up at any rock concert, making the sign of the devil (aka "rock and roll dude!") representing, I would suggest, victory over our demons from the virtual exorcism rock imparts.

I believe this song to be about Satan's descent from grace, expunged from the Garden of Eden when he gave the power of knowledge to Eve and Adam. Falling from the sky, they're cast out from God's heavenly light, and now Adam and Eve can live in peace. Now that the Devil's spawn no longer breathe, they are left with the Devil's bleeding crown; Possibly the crown of sin which he gifted them. But while he was defeated and dethroned, he seeks revenge and is returning, showing us that Evil will never die.

...and that anyone can pick up that bloody crown at any time where the crown represents, essentially, the choice between good (Jesus bloody crown) and evil ("The Devil's Bleeding Crown").

The thing is, we no longer see those types of things happen in a world that is consumed in filth.
