Never Again Lyrics
Carry me under, leave me abandoned
Show me what's left, show me what's left
Beautiful anger, breaking the pattern
Show me what's left, show me what's left
Take the colour from your eyes
I bleed for you, I bleed for you
Bring the broken back to life
We'll make it through, we'll make it through
Empty and perfect, shattered and worthless
Show me what's left, show me what's left
Dragging me further, forget to remember
Show me what's left, show me what's left
Take the colour from your eyes
I bleed for you, I bleed for you
Bring the broken back to life
We'll make it through, we'll make it through
Never again, never again
Time will not take the life from me
Never again, never again
Time will not take the life from me
And after this world is out of reach
Sober and silent, faded and violent
Hopeless, I fight to fall between
Never surrender, out of the embers
Save a space inside for me
Take the colour from your eyes
I bleed for you, I bleed for you
Bring the broken back to life
We'll make it through, we'll make it through
Never again, never again
Time will not take the life from me
Never again, never again
Time will not take the life from me
Show me what's left, show me what's left
Beautiful anger, breaking the pattern
Show me what's left, show me what's left
I bleed for you, I bleed for you
Bring the broken back to life
We'll make it through, we'll make it through
Show me what's left, show me what's left
Dragging me further, forget to remember
Show me what's left, show me what's left
I bleed for you, I bleed for you
Bring the broken back to life
We'll make it through, we'll make it through
Time will not take the life from me
Never again, never again
Time will not take the life from me
Sober and silent, faded and violent
Hopeless, I fight to fall between
Never surrender, out of the embers
Save a space inside for me
I bleed for you, I bleed for you
Bring the broken back to life
We'll make it through, we'll make it through
Time will not take the life from me
Never again, never again
Time will not take the life from me

The sequel to Angels Fall and probably a secret B-side! My favorite on the album and that's saying A lot! This song is all about persevering and leaving the past behind. Also learning from the dark past and promising to have a better present and future. Rising from the ashes is key, not staying down and out. "I bleed for you" is helping someone during dark times. This is so much like Angels Fall - I love it.
@Legendkiler101 definitely one of the best songs off the album

It's like promising to never fall back into old habits or something that was killing you in the past but also asking to be remembered. Moving on but not totally forgotten.
-I bleed for you--> shows he cares about whoever he is directing the lyrics to. It's a tender way to say I see that you're in pain or had a lot of pain and it hurt me too but I'm here for you and I completely understand what you're going through. It could even mean because I feel your pain and it really hurts me. While you're emotionally unavailable, I bleed and feel all the things you don't.
-save a space inside for me---> he's asking them to still hold on to him, even if life takes them down separate paths. You reserve a special place in your heart for those you love dearly; best friends, good friends, family, and sometimes an ex (If they were someone important in your life who added significant meaning and changed you or your life in a way that made you grateful to have known them)
-Never again---> I won't surrender to my weakness, addiction, depression, or whatever the conflict was. I promise.
It's a very original song with an inspirational meaning. Don't give up!
Great song. But the start of the chorus was confusing to me...Take the colour from your eyes..... but now i see it as in looking through someone elses point of view.... never again, never agin Time will not take the life from me.... live your life to the fullest even after going through alot of grief
No doubt about the song "never again" by Breaking Benjamin is about never again slipping back into old habits. Those old habits being LSD or possibly a hallucinogenic natural substance know as ayahuasca. Which is inside of plants and possibly large specific species of trees in the rainforest. The sap in those trees can be hallucinogenic.
It can also be found in amphibians, such as for example (licking the bottom of a poisonous tree frog)
The substance known as Ayahuasca might be natural and occurs in many plants and animals. It's entheogen. A drug known to cause a spiritual experience and is consumed for ritual purposes. Yes Ayahuasca is a natural substance. But the techniques and the ways that you cultivate that drug make it synthetic. Because you have to add chemicals to the plant to get the ayahuasca out of the plant.
In order to get the Ayahuasca out of the plants you have too synthetically cultivate it somehow by adding chemicals.
So by the time the cultivation process is done and you got the Ayahuasca out. it is no longer natural because you've added chemicals.
Benjamin Burnley probably took a trip to south America. Consumed the drug and then took a flight home. He might have been tripping balls (hallucinating his butt off) while he was on the flight. This might be where Benjamin Burnley gets his fear of flying. Written by jay c. Jones
@jonesjayson99123 replying to myself..... Benjamin Burnley is a person that has claimed that he's tried alleged psychedelics and entheogen's. Such as DMT. N,N-Dimethyltryptamine. The main ingredient responsible for the hallucinogenic effects inside of N,N-Dimethyltryptamine is ayahuasca

In addition to. Not a doubt that this song is Benjamin Burnley's way of admiring to experimenting with DMT and ayahuasca

I'm assuming this is about his sobriety and issues with alcohol. I think the title "Never Again" is basically a declaration to himself that he'll never relapse.
Placing the music video aside, I think this song is about a girl and a guy. He wants to know what’s going to happen next between them; “Show me what’s left”. She went through many phases; going out with him, leaving him, becoming angry (beautiful anger), breaking that pattern, empty and perfect, shattered and worthless, and then things got better. He became “Sober and silent” “Faded” like he didn’t matter to her and “violent” angry because of it. He wants her to save a space inside of her heart for him and not let him go. “We’ll make it through” is him saying they can pull through and be together if she tries. “Bring the broken back to life” I think means bring the relationship back to how it was. He wants to fix it. She’s been through several phases and he’s sober now. He won’t ever let life bring him down again and he wants her to “never surrender” never stop fighting her demons too. At the same time, he doesn’t want her to give up on their love or friendship or bond that they once had. It’s okay for her and him to recover but he’s saying after rising from the ashes, don’t forget about everything they were. He wants to be held on to.
(describes her) Carry me under, make me abandoned Show me what's left, show me what's left Beautiful anger, breaking the pattern Show me what's left, show me what's left
Take the colour from your eyes I bleed for you, I bleed for you Bring the broken back to life We'll make it through, we'll make it through (He’s saying he believes they can pull through and all the pain she felt, he felt it too. He bled for her, metaphorically)
(describes her) Empty and perfect, shattered and worthless Show me what's left, show me what's left Dragging me further, forget to remember Show me what's left, show me what's left
Take the colour from your eyes I bleed for you, I bleed for you Bring the broken back to life We'll make it through, we'll make it through
Never again, never again Time will not take the life from me Never again, never again Time will not take the life from me (He won’t go down with his depression or do what kills him)
(Describes him) And after this world is out of reach Sober and silent, faded and violent Hopeless, I fight to fall between Never surrender, out of the embers Save a space inside for me (He wants her to never forget him and to hold a special place for him inside her heart)
I believe this song is about how people rely too much on cosmetic and product to make us live longer and look young and it saying how these chemical are destroying us while we're being told it can heal is and make us better (bring the broken back to life)
I think this song is about adrenochrome and it also shows how people take the vaccine thinking it\'s safe but end up dying from it. Take the color from your eyes(these demons using adrenochrome) \nMy quick thoughts for yall
We all know that Ben has a disease from being an alcoholic right? That's what most of his songs are about, overcoming alcoholism, relapse, withdrawal, excessive drinking, etc. including this one.
I'm not sure what the hell the comment about ayahuasca was getting at, but that's got to be the furthest from the actual meaning. This song is meant to empower those with addictions and help them to realize they can get through it no matter how hard it is.
"Take the color from your eyes" is a metaphor for being blind to the addiction in the first place, movies and tv shows often show blind people with white or cloudy eyes and lacking any color. The line "time will not take the life from me" refers to his phobia of dying. "Show me what's left" is referring to his life as a sober person, often we lose ourselves in our addictions and wonder who we are without them.
Every single line in this song comes from a crippling (literally) alcohol addiction, and (as stated before) so do 80% of the other songs.
BB is top3 in my listening rotation, so don't confuse this more harsh comment as being a "hate" comment. It's just frustrating to see that no one does even an ounce of research into the bands they listen to. It's really not hard to get to know the artists that make up your playlist, YouTube is free...
