Nothing here to see
Just a kid like me
Trying to cut some teeth
Trying to figure it out

Nothing better to do
When I'm stuck on you
I'm still in here trying to figure it out

Getting hard to sleep
Blood is in my dreams
Love is killing me
Trying to figure it out

Nothing better to do
When I'm stuck on you
I'm still in here trying to figure it out

I let it go, 'cause I won't see you later
And we're not allowed to talk it out
I said I'd go, put myself on show
But I'm still trying to figure it out

I broke my shoe, tripped and fell on you
But you didn't know I planned it out
I said I'd go, yeah, I won't see you later
And we're not allowed to figure it out, oh

Nothing here to see
Just a kid like me
Trying to cut some teeth
Trying to figure it out

Nothing better to do
When I'm stuck on you
I'm still in here trying to figure it out

I let it go, 'cause I won't see you later
And we're not allowed to talk it out
I said I'd go, put myself on show
But I'm still trying to figure it out

I broke my shoe, tripped and fell on you
But you didn't know I planned it out
I said I'd go, yeah I won't see you later
And we're not allowed to figure it out

Yeah

The video has imagery of a young woman in some sort of struggle at a Mall. At first it seems like she is delusional and has perhaps committed a crime (there are 'wanted' signs of her in the Mall) so people run away and the cops chase her.

There are flashes of red & blue: themes similar to the Matrix - is this reality Vs unreality? Perhaps she is on drugs or is just an insane killer (red) - Or is she being unfairly persecuted and finds the strength to fight back (blue). I prefer the Blue Pill in this video; the imagery shows he as the victor.

She escapes at the end and 'figures out' that she has been subjected to a kidnapping where she was tied up in the back of a van outside the mall. The mall scene was her escapes and the 'murder' was an act of self-defense to defeat the evil plans of her predator/captor.

I don't think the lyrics are "trying to cuss and see"..... I think they are "trying to cut some teeth"..... which matches more closely what this song is about, as it would refer to a youngster growing up.

This song is about growing up, having a crush, and kind of stumbling through your first love.

    Song Meaning

The song seems to be about a man having a crush on a girl and not being able to talk to her (because he's shy) torments him. He tries loses sleep because of this and tries to find excuses to see her (like the 'broke my shoe' line implies).

    My Interpretation

Speaking as someone who's fallen pretty hard for a girl and finding it hard to talk to her about it I'm feeling a lot of love for this song at the moment.

I think it's pretty clear - the singer's got a thing for someone and they can't tell them about it. Either because they're shy or some other reason (the object of affection is involved with someone else, or they're a friend or something).

Projecting from my own feelings - yeah you don't feel motivated to do anything "Nothing better to do, When I'm stuck on you" You don't sleep too great ("Getting hard to sleep, But it is in my dreams")

The one thing I'm confused by is the use of the word 'allowed'. It's like the writer has been told by the person they've got feels for that they don't want to hear about it and don't want to talk about it.

So basically it's a really cool, really kicking song about being a pathetic lovelorn teenager...

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
