Circus For A Psycho Lyrics

Psycho, go, go, go
Psycho, here we go

You push until I break
And the anger turns to rage
Why can’t you just leave me alone
Got your finger on the trigger
You think that you’re the winner
You’re gonna get kicked off of your throne

You think you’re gonna hurt me
Get ready to get dirty
You created this beast inside
Pull the noose tighter
And lift a little higher
Because you’re killing me slow
I ain’t ready to die

Killing me slow but I ain’t ready to die

Tonight, get ready for a fight
So now you know it’s time
To ride my circus for a psycho
Round and round we go, look out below
Because I want off this
I want off this

Circus for a psycho
(Psycho, go, go, go)
Circus for a psycho
(Psycho, here we go)
Psycho, here we go

Everybody down
Gonna burn it to the ground
Can’t keep this beast inside
Never again, never again
You’re killing me slow but I ain’t ready to die

Killing me slow but I ain’t ready to die

Tonight, get ready for a fight
So now you know it’s time
To ride my circus for a psycho
Round and round we go, look out below
Because I want off this
I want off this

Circus for a psycho
(Psycho, go, go, go)
Circus for a psycho
(Psycho, here we go)

You think you’re gonna hurt me
Get ready to get dirty
Gonna burn this place to the ground

Tonight, get ready for a fight
So now you know it’s time
To ride my circus for a psycho
Round and round we go, look out below
It’s time to ride my circus for a psycho

Never again, never again
You’re killing me slow but I ain’t ready to die
Round and round we go, look below
Because I want off this
I want off this

This song I believe is based on when you lose control of yourself and you start a 'fight' between that someone who 'crossed the line', (via discouragement or bullying, etc.) and you just want to get out of the problem (circus) and avoid the person harassing you (the psycho)

My Interpretation

I think you're close, but I feel like the "psycho" is the main character, as he may have been pushed over the edge by some sort of bully. The "Circus" is what the main character uses as a metaphor for the fight with the bully. Since it is a circus FOR THE psycho, I would personally assume that he has lost it and will destroy and torture this figure who has harmed him.

It's not "Psycho, go, go, go" it's "PSYCHO, CHO, CHO, CHO" it sort of sounds like it is go, but the lyrics that came with the version of their album Rise that I got says that cho is correct

I think it's about a guy (or girl) who has been yelled at, pushed around, ( you push until I break) and hurt by a pycho. They have been taking it over and over again while it has been hurting and building inside of them (this beast inside) It all has created a psycho inside of them, and he/she is going to let let it out, let it go and have a circus of a fight back.

I think this is about someone loosing it over something (such as a bully) and they start having all these horrible thoughts about killing or doing something horrible to someone.

My Interpretation

This song is one of skillet's angriest songs, along with Sick of It and Forsaken. to me, it means that someone has had enough crap and is gonna let loose.

I think it's a song about an angry Christian.

Instead of "Circus," wouldn't a "Carousel" make more sense?? I don't understand how you can his circus for a psycho. Worst song on the album.

The lines "Round and round we go" and "I want off this" may mean something along the line of him feeling as though he is on a roller coaster or something.

The music video features John Cooper wrestling a clown so "circus for a psycho" may be more of a metaphor than anything else.
