I think this song is about losing a loved one and cannot live without them, so they start to isolate themselves and become depressed. They start to think about their loved one everyday and they don't know how they can survive.
I agree with you completely. I lost my best friend nearly a year ago and that's exactly what I'm doing, isolating myself, exacerbating the depression, and listening to this song just amplifies those feelings.

I feel nostalgic every time I hear this song. hmmmm... for me the song is about missing your friends and your adventures with them.
