Shouldn't Come Back

Im pretty sure this song is about her dad. He left her and her mom and her sister when Demi was very young. It's also said that he's hit either her or her mom before. And was also an alcoholic. since she's gotten famous he's kind of been trying to get back into her life. She said in one of her older songs (for the love of a daughter) that she wants him out of her life because of all the pain he's caused her but its hard for her to let him go because he's still her father and she loves him. I think in this one its just her way of telling him that she for sure doesnt want him back. even though she's really upset about it, she knows that's whats best for her. I love this song its one of my favorites on the album :)

At first I thought this song was about a guy who let her down but keeps coming back into her life. However after I heard the second verse: "Trying not to forget Should be easier than this oh oh All the birthdays you missed I was only a kid oh oh Sorry I'm, not sorry for the times I don't reply, you'll know the reason why" In this verse she talks about this person missing birthdays and that she was only a kid so it made me think that this song could possibly be about a parent who has been in and out of her life. He/she keeps coming back only to let her down every time and so she is telling him/her to stop.

I didn't know about her dad thing until I read the coments on here. Which make sense. As I am not a Demi fan, I didn't even know about it. But before reading the comments, I could only think about her - trying to move on from a big love she has. As if she is strongly in love with that person, but she knows it is better to move on and be happy. she doesn't want that one guy to keep calling becuase, maybe, at the second she listens to his voice... she would fall again when really she is fighting to get him out of her life.

** like I said, This was my thought before reading what the song was really about. :)
