Here we go!
Holding on to lies
Holding on to ties that vanish

Cut the rope
And fall into the sky
The Devil fills our minds with sadness

The world's a gun and I've been aiming all my life

Got something to live for
I know that I won't surrender
A warrior of youth

I'm taking over
A shock to the new world order
I am bulletproof!

Here I go!
Another prison fight
Another perfect sky I damage

Now I know
Just who created life
And why I set my side to save it

The world's a gun and I've been aiming all my life

Got something to live for
I know that I won't surrender
A warrior of youth

I'm taking over
A shock to the new world order
I am bulletproof!

And as they take their final breath
I have bent the truth

I'm taking over
A shock to the new world order
I am bulletproof!

Bulletproof!
Bulletproof!
I am bulletproof!

Got something to live for
I know that I won't surrender
A warrior of youth

I'm taking over
A shock to the new world order
I am bulletproof!

Got something to live for
I know that I won't surrender
A Warrior of youth

I'm taking over
A shock to the new world order
I am bulletproof!

I am bulletproof!
I am bulletproof!

1- It's NOT "The world's all gone.." It IS "The world's a gun.." 1) it wouldn't make sense followed by "And I've been aiming all my life." 2) I love this song and I know all the lyrics, so I should know and I'm correct. 2- It's NOT "Set my side to save it." It IS "Set my sights to save it." 3- it's NOT "I have bent the truth" it IS "I built the truth." 4- it's NOT "a shock to the new world order" it's "a shot to the new world order" 5- IT IS "Another prison flight. Another perfect sky I damaged." 6- IT IS "The Devil filled our minds with sadness." I had to correct all your errors. My lyrics are right and straight from the booklet too.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
