Judgement Call Lyrics

All the dirt and the worry left when
I realized that I knew it all
How it started and how it's gonna end
(It's a judgement call)
And I don't need no proof
(It's a judgement call)
The writing's on my wall
It's a judgement

And you can come if you get behind it
And if you wear this long white shawl
Cause we're the clean, and the right and the chosen ones
(It's a judgement call)
And I don't need no proof
(It's a judgement call)
The writing's on my wall
It's a judgement

And we gotta keep the wheels in motion
And we gotta get the kids before they grow
God forbid they retain their sense of wonder
(It's a judgement call)
Their sense of wonder
(It's a judgement call)
Their sense of wonder
It's a judgement

Now I don't need to think for myself
No, I don't need to think at all
When the team says go, I go
It's a judgement call, it's a judgement call

No, we don't need to think for ourselves
No, we don't need to think at all
When the screen says go, we go
It's a judgement call, it's a judgement call

And I believe this land is my land
You are not the same at all
Cause the man in the sky has got my back
And I don't need no proof
The writing's on my wall
I don't need no proof
The writing's on my wall
(It's a judgement call)
No, I don't need no proof
(It's a judgement call)
So you better start running
It's a judgement
It's a judgement
It's a judgement

I made your world a living hell
(It's a judgement)
I've lost the will to judge myself.

I think this song is a mocking criticism of religion. Worry leaving when he realized he "knew it all" means he's found the answer to the big questions, the same way religion gives people the answer to life's big questions, and how it "begun" and how it "ended".

In many ways religion encourages people to judge others whose answers to life's questions are different from yours. It's a "judgement".

Not having to think for himself because the religion tells him which way is the right way - when the screen/team (religion) tells him what to do, he does it without question.

@loosegrin I don't think of it so much as a criticism of religion as a whole, but rather extreme views. He makes no attack at believing in general, only at believing that one is somehow divinely superior to others. It sounds very Israeli-Palestinian conflict to me.
