There's a proverb that says "let sleeping dogs lie", which basically means you shouldn't instigate trouble. The sleeping dog can only be kept asleep through "a dialogue obedient to rhyme", like a song or poem. But the song/poem would, apparently, only contain lies. That and the chorus makes me think the song is about not being able to write something that awakens anything deeper in you because everything that you could say has already been said. |

I think this song is a mocking criticism of religion. Worry leaving when he realized he "knew it all" means he's found the answer to the big questions, the same way religion gives people the answer to life's big questions, and how it "begun" and how it "ended". In many ways religion encourages people to judge others whose answers to life's questions are different from yours. It's a "judgement". Not having to think for himself because the religion tells him which way is the right way - when the screen/team (religion) tells him what to do, he does it without question. |
