No, no, no, no, no
Uh, wait

You, gotta excuse me
You see I went looking for yesterday
That’s where I think all the good memories of you and me, went, yeah
So I’m swimming in a sea of forgetfulness
Just to get a glimpse of the you I remember, damn (Damn)

I miss you cause the one I’m lookin’ at right now
She, looks just like sounds just like feels just like you
But I’m so confused cause she don’t seem like you
So when I get there

I’ll be drowning, drowning
I’ll be drowning
In our memories
When I get there
I’ll be drowning
I’ll be drowning
I’ll be drowning
In our memories
I'd rather be there than here

I, don’t, want a life saver (No)
Unless it's gonna save this love
If it’s not, then leave me right here
Let me breathe in the moments I won’t let go, of
I wish you’d get back to that girl
The one that I remember as my lover, damn (Damn)

I miss her cause the one I’m lookin at right now
She, looks just like sounds just like feels just like you
But I’m so confused cause she don’t seem like you
So when I get there

I’ll be drowning, drowning
I’ll be drowning
In our memories
When I get there
I’ll be drowning
I’ll be drowning
I’ll be drowning
In our memories
I'd rather be there than here

I'd rather be there than here
I'd rather be there than here
I'd rather be there than here
Than here
Than here

This for me could have two versions. I guess it depends on how you view it. First one is that he is with his girl, even though they are together it just seems she isn't the same she used to be. He is longing for the past with his girl, because this is where the good part was: "You see I went looking for yesterday that’s where I think all the good memories of you and me, went" And even though the girl still "looks just like sounds just like feels just like you" she just isn't the same as she used to be. And since he'd rather be back - "I'd rather be there than here" - he's gonna be drowning in the memories of the good times they had together. Forcing himself to think of when it was good. He then goes on to sing that he doesn't want to be saved: "I, don’t, want a life saver (No). Unless it's gonna save this love." This meaning he wishes to stay in the past to stay in the relationship. Only way he wants to be saved is if they can save their love. The other scenario is less likely, but I'll throw it out there anyways.. He moved on and found a new girl. But when he's with this new one all he can think about is the old one. "I miss you cause the one I’m lookin’ at right now She, looks just like sounds just like feels just like you". The new girl resembles the old one, and so he misses her. He's swimming around in "a sea of forgetfullness" as he is trying to remember the good times he had with his ex. Something happened to his former girl, which changed her, so: "I wish you’d get back to that girl, the one that I remember as my lover." He wishes she would go back to being the one he loved, so that they could become lovers again.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
