I want to hurt you
I don't deserve you
Unlace your body, I want total control

Like maggots from the host
You drain, I decompose
Swallow your faith, submit and fuck until we overdose

We said this was the last time, over and over again

Blind eyes
Hands tied

The closer I get is the further I feel
And I am losing my grip on remembering what's real
'Cause our synthetic love is all that we know
My head is a mess and it's going to explode

I want to watch you,
Expose and drill through
Inject the poison, I have lost all control

Crawling inside of you
(The) fruit of the flesh is bruised
Swallow the pain, relive and fuck until we feel like new

We lost our heads and minds explode
I don't want trust in losing control
I'm just a slave to how this feels
(But) baby please don't believe this is real

I wrap my hand's around your throat
Bury your face, remove all your clothes
We're both just slaves that can't refuse
And everything that we have loved in the end we will lose

    My Interpretation

This song really sums up the feelings of dissatisfaction when in love. The lyric "the closer I get is the further I feel" states a sense of eternal loneliness. No matter how close you are to someone. In the end you are still just you. "And I'm losing my grip on remembering what's real" speaks to me as the lack of appreciation for moments when they are lived. Unable to see that the moment is truly happening. I think the song is really eye opening. It teaches a lesson that moments need to be lived to the fullest for love to be pure rather than well... synthetic.

It's about chemsex and bdsm. Shooting up with drugs that make you want nothing more than kinky sex. But it's not real, it's the drugs making them feel the way they do. Inject the poison, I have lost all control

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
