Fill my head with the future
Fill my eyes with the sky
Whole of my life I've been left behind but I've never felt more alive
High speed conversations
Speeding on down the line
Looked in your eyes said the saddest goodbye but I've never felt more alive

I can taste it
In my mouth it's just so bitter sweet
it's right there in your eyes of apple green
It should be easy but it's hard to leave

Went down in a fiery Zeppelin
You won't know if you don't try
Nothing but my shirt and I walked away hurt but I've never felt more alive

Talking on a bad connection
Think I might have fused a wire
Your on the other side as I've always sussed out but I've never felt more alive

I can taste it
In my mouth it's just so bittersweet
It's right there in your eyes of apple green
It should be easy but it's hard to leave

Yeah and this road between us
Man it's been a long hard drive
You pay for it in the morning when your best friend is denied

Flying all around never looking down no I've never felt more alive
Journeys going fast I hope it's gonna last 'cause I've never felt more alive, oh

I can taste it
In my mouth it's just so bittersweet
It's right there in your eyes of apple green
It should be easy but it's hard to leave

    Song Meaning

It's about a guy who goes through a lot for a fresh start, he's so close he can "taste it" but it's bittersweet as his best friend is still on the other side so he find it hard to leave so he tries to convince him by saying "You won't know if you won't try"

    Song Meaning

It's obviously about ecstacy. Bittersweet referring to the taste, apple green to the colour and print. And "You won't know if you won't try" is a big clue as well.

I think it´s clearly talking about becoming this "star" in a way. The first part his picturing you what the before, and now that his "someone" he feels that everything was worth it. He has to leave, so he feels bad about leaving his life behind him but he knows that something better comes along with that loss. Its not about drugs or anything like that. The bittersweet taste its leaving his friends family but knowing that his dreams are coming true. The second part just gives you another look of what happend after he left his comfort zone. (How hard its to keep you relashions long distance...) "Journeys going fast I hope its gonna last 'cause I've never felt more alive Oh" He finally admits that its all going to fast and he can´t believe it but he hopes it last because it makes him feel great.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
