New Horizons Lyrics

So you’re tired but you’re alive
So open up your eyes and
you can get your sleep when you are dead
Kill the clock inside your head
Bring your normalcy to the edge
and watch it drown in new horizons
New horizons

You said I’d only had to wait until I died
and that’s in no time (no time)
How did we come to thinking this was funny?
Cheeering and laughing at the dying,
while we’re writing the line in you

Wait
You said I’d only have to wait until I die
(New horizon)
There is no such thing as time
Inside this moment, no summarizing
{Wait until I fly (New horizon)}[x2]

Life floods in with a conquest,
Life floods in with a new quest
Here’s a voice for the voiceless
and the song for the souless
Life floods in

Wait
You said I’d only have to wait until I die
(New horizon)
There is no such thing as time
Inside this moment, no summarizing
{Wait until I fly (New horizon)}[x2]

When the times keep going wrong
and we go right[x2]

Wait
You said I’d only have to wait until I die
(New horizon)
There is no such thing as time
Inside this moment, no summarizing
Wait until I fly (New horizon)

Lord
(Wait until I fly, new horizon)
We need you, Lord
(Wait until I fly, new horizon)

There is no such thing as time
Inside this moment, no summarizing
Wait until I fly

When the times keep going wrong
and we go right
We go right

Bassist Pat Seals describes the tune as follows: “‘New Horizons’ expresses a feeling of looking toward the unknown future with hope. Definitely one of our best and most joyful songs — I am excited to see how our fans will receive it.”

i love this song i think that they took this 2 years to think about the past and all the "victories" they had in the past and now they're aiming to the "New Horizons" Gods has for them! I love Flyleaf!!!

This is one great song

This is my new favorite song from Lacey, because it took me awhile to actually get the newest album before realizing they have a new lead singer, but who cares? She sounds good and can keep Flyleaf going, which is what we all need...

Anyways, since I'm So Sick, this song truly reflects her story of the day before she found Jesus she was gonna attempt suicide... I mean, even the opening reminds me way too much of Matthew 26:40... --- So you're tired but you're alive So open up your eyes And you can get some sleep when you are dead Kill the clock inside your head ---

It's a song I think definitely about the future, but more just... living in the moment... not being afraid of death, and optimistically not even worrying about the transition from now until heaven... --- Wait You said I'd only have to wait until I die (New horizons) There is no such thing as time Inside this moment no sun rising Wait until I fly ---

And of course, if you notice, the music video showcases memories, but also what appears to be Lacey's husband and baby... illustrating she's enjoying and making the most of life, but not storing her treasures on earth
