Not Tonight

This song is about how you like or love someone and you really want to tell the person how you feel but your so scared. that is why she is like "not tonight". maybe some other time.... she doesn't know what he will say or do. but in her mind she wants him to feel the same way once she does decide to tell him.

I felt this song was basically showing that women are just as shy when men approach them.

This is song that sooo many girls can relate to. It's a girl thinking about telling her crush her undying love for him, all her feelings, and what they could be. But she's not that girl who has the courage to do so. She's watching him from afar all the time (like most girls) and she's just amazed by how he always manages to make her gawk."I forget to pick my face up off the floor." She's also starting to make up scenarios (again like most girls) That what if he ever comes up to me? What would I do? Would I actually tell him my feelings? If I did would he actually feel the same? Would he return my love? Only in a story because again he's not actually making that move, only in a story would that happen.

And then the last part two different things could be happening First: She feels like a fool because she never took the chance. She kept saying "Maybe, but not tonight" And putting it off, instead of just telling him. But she just wants to tell him she loves him, still. Two: She actually did tell him and everything went wrong. He didn't feel the same, she felt like a fool, her face was on the floor. Nothing went how she planned in her head, and even though she was rejected she still wants to tell him that she loves him more.
