Just Give Me a Reason Lyrics
Right from the start
You were a thief
You stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them
Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh
Things you never say to me, oh, oh
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our love
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I'm sorry I don't understand
Where all of this is coming from
I thought that we were fine
(Oh, we had everything)
Your head is running wild again
My dear we still have everythin'
And it's all in your mind
(Yeah, but this is happenin')
You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, oh
You used to lie so close to me, oh, oh
There's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love
Oh, our love, our love
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I never stopped
You're still written in the scars on my heart
You're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
Oh, tear ducts can rust
I'll fix it for us
We're collecting dust
But our love's enough
You're holding it in
You're pouring it dry
No nothing is as bad as it seems
We'll come clean
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, oh, that we're not broken just bent

So, I think that the song talks about a couple whose flame is gone out of their relationship. They feel like they don't love each other as much as they used to, and they're still together, only because they feel like they're obliged to.
The female perspective in the song (P!nk, obviously) is bored and is reminiscing about how she first fell in love with her husband (sung by Nate Ruess). She wants to believe that they're still as in love as they used to be, but can't bring herself to say it, and isn't sure about how her partner feels about it..
The male perspective is completely oblivious to what his wife's feelings and is surprised that she feels that way, because he thought that everything was going well between them. He soon realizes that she's right and he too, wants them to go back to the way they used to be. However, he's much more laid-back and thinks that it'll be easy but his partner wants him to put more effort into their marriage.
In the end, they manage to give each other a reason to still be happily together :) This song is amazing.
It is a song about second chances. It's about digging deep enough when you've reached that point when things got stale and complacent and you're ready to get out... but instead of giving in, you should fight back. To realize that you're not broken - just bent - and that you CAN learn to love again. The message is about fighting for love and realizing that even if you fell out of love, you can always fall back in love again but you have to fight for it.
She (Pink) told music streaming service Spotify: ''Sometimes [one partner] can be like, 'The way you passed me the butter this morning, I kinda feel like we're going to be over in a month and we need to talk' and he's like, 'I just passed you the f***ing butter, what are you talking about?' and that's how I felt the song should go, 'We're growing apart, you don't spoon any more, like it's all over'.''
This song is about a person (the girl) who starts to become insecure about their relationship.. but it's all in her head. She thinks too much.. to the point where she imagines he's starting to fall out of love with her.
"Now you've been talking in your sleep oh oh Things you never say to me oh oh Tell me that you've had enough Of our love, our love"
He tries to reassure her that their love is fine:
"I'm sorry I don't understand Where all of this is coming from I thought that we were fine (Oh we had everything) Your head is running wild again My dear we still have everythin'"
The chorus is just a plea to remind themselves that their love is still great. They just need to remember that this is part of love.. it's not always gonna be perfect, but that doesn't mean it's broken, "just bent."
Really great song about not giving up when reality sets in on the idea of love.
I believe music is art and can be interpreted in anyway it resonates with the listener...
this song to me is about two people who love each other, but their relationship changed and they are no longer together romantically... they are friends... she is having a harder time with the no longer romantic together portion,,, they stll do things together but she misses the couple part of it... they love each other and probably belong together but will not admit it they do not want to lose the firendship ...they dont know how to love each other again...but they can (or they can learn to love again can mean they remain friend and can learn to love others again)...
I'm sorry I don't understand Where all of this is coming from I thought that we were fine (Oh we had everything) HE IS SAYING THE FRIENDSHIP IS GOOD ENOUGH AND THINGS ARE GREAT..,. SHE IS SAYING, NO WE HAD EVERYTHING WHY CVANT YOU SEE I CANT MOVE PAST THIS" Your head is running wild again (SHES THINKING TOO MUCH) My dear we still have everythin' (HES CONTENT WITH THE FRIENDSHIP) And it's all in your mind (Yeah but this is happenin') (SHE IS COMING TO TERMS WITH THE FACT SHE NEEDS TO MOVE ON FOR ROMANTIC LOVE)
Neither of them have been with anyone else physically "There's nothing more than empty sheets between our love, our love Oh our love, our love"
Though not written in this context, it certainly can be felt that way if the listener is in love with their best friend and they tried the romance aspect but for whatever reasons it didnt work out initially... such a paraodx there... do you learn to love again and risk losing the friendship and person all together or do you accept the friendship and learn to love other people instead...
A week a go a friend of my wife told me to get this song and listen to the lyrics. This friend is also married and we both feel growing apart from or partners. She asked me to get the song and listen to it and we must met up in a couple of weeks and talk about the lyrics, now has me very curious. Loved reading everyones comments which is now got me looking at my wife and my relationship more deeply
Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh Things you never say to me, oh, oh I feel that this mean that he's having an affair and that "things you never say to me" refers to the things he's been saying in his sleep to another woman which he has never said to her. Please tell me what you think.
Tell me you have enough of our love..i guess it is saying that the other is fed up in their relationship. But still, she doesn't understand why it is all happening in their somehow perfect relationship. She is still hoping for their relationship to work out..fighting for it..even it it hurts her so much..the tears..she's holding it back..cause she truly believes that they must never give up on their relationship. just give me reason..it seems that her partner isn't working to fix their relationship, perhaps he's cold hearted...but still, just a lil reason will be enough..just a lil love....and she's fine..she'll be okay even with that little reason... its not broken just bend..so she'll do all her best effort to fix it..and continue their somehow "perfect" love...yes, its not going to be easy, especially if its just one-sided...it seems to be unfair..but still hoping that its all worth it....
"This song is featured on "The Truth about Love" album and is written about the desire that someone feels when they want to hold on to a relationship which appears to be breaking down over time. Pink explains that one partner can read too much into the actions of the other, when in reality they meant nothing of the sort. She explains that "Just give me a Reason" was written for couples who have a hard time communicating and therefore feel like it is all coming to an end.
The song is a duet which features pop star Pink and Nate Ruess which was originally done as a demo and then released as a duet. Pink felt that the song would flow better and have a better meaning if it was song as a conversation between two lovers whether it is a guy and a girl, two guys or two girls. The song reflects the discord which often happens when communication is not open and the relationship begins to dissolve as a result. The line "Were not broken, just bent" reflects that with a little work and a lot of communication a relationship can be saved if both parties are willing to try to work it out"

Women often think too much into small things men do and then it snowballs , i have done this often and this sing really gets into my emotions as i have done this in my relationship, but with a little communication with my partner we "learned to love again" as i felt he was slipping away from me, and so pushed him away and so he felt i was going off of him and again its a snowball, but with communication , the love in not broken just bent, and we learned to lovee again. I quoted an article of what the song is about as this is what i thought it was, but the article said it in much better words than i could write, but this is how i interpreted the song when i first listened to the lyrics.
lyrics defined it pretty well already. i like the flow of the song.
I bet sending this song to some significant others has saved a few relationships.
