This waking nightmare lingers
when will the mirror stop telling lies
I don't know where I've been
or where I'm going
But I can't do it alone
I'm reaching out

Rescue me
Show me who I am
'Cause I can't believe
This is how the story ends

Fight for me
If it's not too late
Help me breathe again
No, this can't be how the story ends

I'm wrapped up and waiting for you
I've lost so much more then I'll ever know
The past, the truth forgotten
find me now
Before I lose it all

I'm crying out

Rescue me
Show me who I am
'Cause I can't believe
This is how the story ends
fight for me
if it's not too late
help me breathe again
no, this can't be how the story ends

haa-haa-haa-haa-haaa x6

Rescue me
Show me who I am
'Cause I can't believe (I can't believe)
This is how the story ends
Fight for me
If it's not too late (not too late)
Help me breathe again
No, this can't be how the story ends

    My Interpretation

I really like this song. Sometimes I just imagine us as lambs in the pasture and Jesus our shepherd. We've lost the way, and let Jesus back. Then we experience what world can offer, but that is nothing like we tought neither what we wanted it to be. So we ask God to come and take us back, lead us back to the pasture, if its not too late to ask him to help us. I still think about he taking care of us and consoling us, as he does with the prodigal son...

    Its a beautiful song!

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
