Stained Glass Eyes And Colorful Tears Lyrics
I changed your mind
And ended up here
Through stained glass eyes
And colorful tears.
Fine maybe, I'll pretend right now
But I swear to God I'm gonna
Change the world and I promise
You someday, we'll tell ourselves
"Oh my god, this is paradise."
I cherish my American girl.
She holds them down, while I destroy the world
My desperate crimes, she don't seem to care.
She bites her tongue, so that we can tell each other
"Baby this is paradise, and it's so Goddamn good."
Now we live like we should.
Fine maybe, I'll pretend right now
But I swear to God I'm gonna
Change the world and I promise
You someday, we'll tell ourselves
"Oh my god, this is paradise."
Fine maybe, I'll pretend right now
But I swear to God I'm gonna
Change the world and I promise
You someday, we'll tell ourselves
"Oh my god, this is paradise."
And ended up here
Through stained glass eyes
And colorful tears.
But I swear to God I'm gonna
Change the world and I promise
You someday, we'll tell ourselves
"Oh my god, this is paradise."
She holds them down, while I destroy the world
My desperate crimes, she don't seem to care.
She bites her tongue, so that we can tell each other
"Baby this is paradise, and it's so Goddamn good."
Now we live like we should.
But I swear to God I'm gonna
Change the world and I promise
You someday, we'll tell ourselves
"Oh my god, this is paradise."
But I swear to God I'm gonna
Change the world and I promise
You someday, we'll tell ourselves
"Oh my god, this is paradise."

i think this is about a man who loves a girl so much but he can't give her what he wants but he'll keep trying. She just wants to be friends and that makes him angry. He has stained glass eyes meaning he's drunk and colorful tears meaning maybe he made himself bleed. "She holds them down, while I destroy the world" would mean she is his partner in crime and he knows that he's a bad, destructive person but he's working on being better for this one girl.
This and Hold on Til May are my favorite songs on the album. I just love the lyrics. <3
Since there are no comments referring to what the song means; well then, I will get this ball rolling. Chances are, my interpretation of this song could be wrong but oh well! This is about a relationship obviously, most likely romantic. I believe it is about a relationship that either started off very strong. Nothing in particular happened to create a deviation in the relationship. But the one person is trying to convince the other person that this deviation is temporary and in the end, everything will work out. But at the moment, the relationship will be rocky.
Other than that, this song is amazing. Pierce the Veil is unique and I freaking love it.
I love this song. When I hear it, it makes me think of my sister. At only 16 months apart, we're practically twins. I think this song is to a girl he really loves, and he says maybe for now it's just pretending, but one day he's gonna make something, a paradise, for her. This is why it reminds me of my sister, I'm gonna make something for her one day. She's done so much for me.
I honestly believe this song is about young vic. his dream to tour and "change the world' how he cried and worked his way to where he gonna be (a famous artist) its him convincing himself that he is going to be big when he grown up. The song changes to present time i the second verse. he is in a relationship, but it touring. 'she holds it down while i destroy the world' (touring). Of course he does a lot of bad things while on tour "desperate crimes" but she forgives him and usually wont care. she still thinks "its paradise" and they are living like they should since he is doing what he loves. (this not only applies to vic, but the other members also0
what I love about music is that it can mean anything to anyone. here's what I feel whenever I listen to the song:
when Vic sings "I swear to God, I'm gonna change the world" that reminds me of this one time someone very special told me I'm the type of person who's going to change the world. that was back when I didn't know where I was going with my life. now I know, and even though that person isn't in my life anymore and I'm pretty sure they hate my guts, I live off the hope I'm going to change the world someday. when I listen to this song I hear the hope in Vic's voice, as if he hadn't yet achieved his main goal. the song also talks about his "American girl". I also think he wants to change the world and reach paradise not only with, but for her.
