Signed D. C. Lyrics

Sometimes I feel so lonely
My comedown I'm scared to face
I've pierced my skin again, Lord
No one cares
For me

My soul belongs to the dealer
He keeps my mind as well
I play the part of the leecher
No one cares
For me, cares for me

Look out Joe, I'm fallin'
I can't unfold my arms
I've got one foot in the graveyard
No one cares
For me, cares for me

“Sometimes I feel so lonely.” Shooting up is a personal thing. If there are two people and only enough dope for one, it is rare that it is shared and they both stay sick.

“My comedown I'm scared to face” The comedown is the sickness that envelops the body as the painkiller wears off. It is a greater pain than if they had not used the drug in the first place.

“I've pierced my skin again, lord” Stuck in a needle to put the substance directly into the vain for a greater rush.

“No one cares For me” The Junkie chooses drugs over people.

“My soul belongs to the dealer” The junkie needs a fix, plain and simple

“He keeps my mind as well” No matter how spaced out the addict gets they have to keep in mind the next place they will meet the dealer and what they will need to get well.

“I play the part of the lecher” When an addict has tons of resources and a secure pharmaceutical supply maybe they can get dope when they want it. But DC in a band starting out would have had to hook users up to get a taste. That is they would act as brokers and get a piece off each side of the transaction to get well. They would have to leach off other users addictions, just like users do to them.

“No one cares For me, cares for me”

“Look out Joe, I'm fallin'”

He did not get a fix in time. It is like falling into a deep hole of pain. Cold turkey, or weak turkey if that last hit was to not strong enough.

“I can't unfold my arms” He is in extreme pain, fetal position, nothing he can do until help arrives.

“I've got one foot in the graveyard” Contrary to popular belief relatively few people actually die from Heroin overdoses as can be seen by DC living another forty years, but that is the way to end an anti-drug song.

“No one cares For me, cares for me”
