Build God, Then We'll Talk [Live] Lyrics

It's these substandard motels on the la la la la la
Corner of 4th and Freemont Street
Appealing only because they're just that unappealing
Any practiced Catholic would cross themselves upon entering
The rooms have a hint of asbestos
And maybe just a dash of formaldehyde
And the habit of decomposing right before your very la la la la eyes

Along with the people inside
What a wonderful caricature of intimacy
Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy

Tonight tenants range from a lawyer and a virgin
Accessorizing with a rosary tucked inside her lingerie
She's getting a job at the firm come Monday
The Mrs. will stay with the cheating attorney
Moonlighting aside, she really needs his money
A wonderful caricature of intimacy, yeah, yeah

And not to mention, the constable
And his proposition, for that virgin
Yes, the one the lawyer met with on strictly business
As he said to the Mrs.
Well, only hours before, after he had left
She was fixing her face in a compact
There was a terrible crash
Between her and the badge
She spilled her purse and her bag
And held a purse of a different kind

Along with the people inside
What a wonderful caricature of intimacy
Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy

There are no raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses
It's sleeping with roaches and taking best guesses
At the shade of the sheets and before all the stains
And a few more of your least favorite things

Raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses
It's sleeping with roaches and taking best guesses
At the shade of the sheets and before all the stains
And a few more of your least favorite things

Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy
Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy

Raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses
It's sleeping with roaches and taking best guesses
At the shade of the sheets and before all the stains
And a few more of your least favorite things

Raindrops on roses and the girls in white dresses
And the sleeping with the roaches and the taking best guesses
At the shade of the sheets and before all the stains
And a few more of your least favorite things

" The rooms have a hint of asbestos And maybe just a dash of formaldehyde And the habit of decomposing right before your very eyes Along with the people inside" Sounds like these hotels are usually used for dirty buisness. It also sounds as though this song may be from the perspective of the main character. In this case a Catholic virgin. This line seems to be referring to the lack of innosence encompassed by the rooms that slowly eat away at any good thing that enters.

"Tonight tenants range from a lawyer and a virgin Accessorizing with a rosary tucked inside her lingerie She's getting a job at the firm come Monday The Mrs. will stay with the cheating attorney Moonlighting aside, she really needs his money A wonderful caricature of intimacy"

This caption is likely referring to the Catholic Virgin and the Lawyer and his Mrs. It sounds like the lawyer is only giving jobs out to people who sleep with him. The Mrs. Stays with him because she needs his money. SURPRISE GOLDDIGGER!

"And not to mention, the constable And his proposition, for that "virgin" Yes, the one the lawyer met with on "strictly business" As he said to the Mrs. Well, only hours before, after he had left She was fixing her face in a compact There was a terrible crash Between her and the bed She spilled her purse and her bag And held a "purse" of a different kind Along with the people inside"

OH THIS STANZA! Sounds like She was fixing herslef up after the Lawyer and her had engaged in sexual activity and the poliece scared her and she dropped her actual purse. When they came in they were looking for money but were unable to find any because she was sleeping with the lawyer in order to get her job. So when they couldnt find any money the Constable told her that she was going to engage in sexual contact or go to Jail. She did and began to hold a "purse of a different kind" BUN IN THE OVEN>! SHE IS HAVING A BABY!

The last few stanzas are about Innosence and how it is taken by the worst possible thing in our lives... They also have a very nice way of incorporating a Sound Of Music Refrence. :)
