To prove to di whole a mi bredring them that mi and Stacy we're just cool

True them nuh know seh this girls been always there to help mi when I'm down
Worst when they see us holding hands, and laughing together
(Strictly platonic iyah)
Got ugly thinking we're making plans, to run off together

[Chorus: Swade]
Can't see were just friends, they say I'm burning my lady
Some criticize and say, mi have mi cake and I eat it up
They can't see were just friends, they say I'm secretly loving you
Oh no! Dem seh we could a never live so, a nothing nah gwaan

[Verse 2: Tony Rebel (Swade)]
Well every time when I talk to a woman out there
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
And if I open a door or pull out a chair
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
And when mi cousin and mi Aunty come check mi from there
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
Seh more time di comments dem so unfair
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
Mi overstand it, chatty chatty habit
Will never see relationship platonic
Neva go beyond it, always deh pon it
Waitin fi di first opportunity fi grab it
Dem love to say it, mi nuh okay it
Tell them to research and dem still don't obey it
Over di years I've had it, labba mout crab it
More time them mek all di empress panic

[Chorus]

[Verse 3: Swade]
Then one a mi bredrin a ask yo look how she hot so yuh must see mad yo
It's either lie yuh lie or lose yuh mind or something's wrong wid yuh yuh
And when I insist she's just a friend, him seh a mi yuh a dead it so
And if I don't remember when, tell mi when him bun him girlfriend
Caan seh dem tings never gwaan, from di day I an I baan
Believe mi when I tell yuh mon, dat is not di situation

[Verse 4: Tony Rebel (Swade)]
Well everytime when I talk to a woman out there
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
And if I open a door or pull out a chair
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
And when mi cousin and mi Aunty come check mi from there
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
Seh more time di comments dem so unfair
(Everybody claim seh mi deh wid har)
When oonu know how if oonu mind smudgey so
As yuh see mi wid di girl yuh bawl out bingo
Ready fi go bring it come then yuh haffi carry go
What yuh really see is just imaginary video

[Chorus]

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song "Fortnight" by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word "fortnight" shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
