Let's drop it
What up?
That motherfucker, ayy, blaze it up (down to rock? Wassup?)
Like that motherfucker (so we gon' do it tonight)
Gon' ride on that ass, go over that nigga's mama house (do it, do it)

Now my rhymes are as potent as pipe bombs (boom)
It takes time to concoct rhymes like mines
Like land mines, all set to explode
Microphonists, all set to unload
Zone watch, that means watch the zone
I'm in a temple with a million dead MC microphones
And they all wanted back by they peeps
Sleep if you dare, 'cause death catch niggas when they sleep
Beware of the consequences, it's senseless
To face a prosecuted life or death MC sentence
Travel through your inner thoughts
Just envision how far I could get, explore to the inner core
And ain't stopped yet, continue the journey
'Cause all that shit you kick just don't concern me
You can't U-turn me, back to reality where niggas pack straps
And they mentality react so violently to leave MC's breathin' silently
With hollow point talons for the violence
Ain't no harmin' me, ain't got no love for no hoes in harmony
It's easy to find MCs to execute
Chances of survival too small to compute
Recognize, like this was Samuel Sneed
I grip the microphone continue with my devilish deeds
'Cause all I see in my M-I-N-D
Is D-P-G for L-I-F-E
And all I see on the M-I-C
Is another mangled MC opposin' me
Supposed to be, regulatin' in this rap era
Made one error up against the microphone terror
It takes two to tangle
I told Daz, "Don't worry," like Keith Murray, I'ma strangle
MCs with the microphone cord
You don't faze me, your thoughts been invaded and explored
I know the ins and the outs to you, buddy
I know where you live and how you make your money
I came to violate you, desecrate you, I create two
Murderous scenes, can you relate to

A Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G)
I'm a Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G)
I'm a Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G)
Straight Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G)

I got the right to serve your ass when you headin' to school (right)
'Cause I'm Dat Nigga Daz bitch, and I'm a fuckin' fool
Don't play with my head, nigga, killers don't speak
Come out the woodworks on your ass (blaow)
Real niggas stalk the streets (blaow)
Unmatched in my inner circle
Where only Gs roam, hellhounds in the war zone
Not givin' the math up (about what?)
About your clique, or what you representin' ain't meanin' shit
Bustas jump to get they fuckin' wig split
Caught up in the twist while I'm stickin' dick through your bitch
You don't know me, girl, I'm down to do low
Your bitch is jockin' Daz, I'm diggin' deep as Cousteau, check it out

I'm massive, you get your ass kicked
Entangle with assassins down for mad shit
Nigga, the strap's in your hand, now what you gon' do?
Is you gon' blast me and blast Kurupt too?
Are you just gon' hold it and act like a bitch, where's he at?
'Cause I got me a gat (gat)
And I'ma show him how a true G's supposed to act with a strap
(There's somethin' 'bout bein' a Dogg Pound Gangsta, nigga)
'Til I die, Dogg Pound for life
Show me your ho and I'll be fuckin' that bitch by midnight (but see)
It ain't nothin' nice, shakin' these niggas like dice
I told you once, so I ain't singin' it twice

A Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G for life)
I'm a Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G for life)
Straight Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G)
'Til I die, I'm a Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G, D-P-G for life)
What? Straight Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G for life)
'Til I die, I'm a Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G for life)
Givin' it up, I'm a Dogg Pound Gangsta (D-P-G, straight up)
When I blast, I'm a Dogg Pound Gangster (D-P-G, D-P-G for life)

Haha (D-P-G)
That's all I know (D-P-G for life)
That's all I live fo' (D-P-G for life)
Is D-P-G, when I wake up in the mornin' (D-P-G for life)
All I see is D-P-G, that's all I know (D-P-G, D-P-G, D-P-G)

"It's slippery out there in winter nights, so y'all drivers (D-P-G for life)
Y'all slow down and be careful that you don't run into nobody (D-P-G for life)
Put all them Yaks down and them chronic joints and thangs (D-P-G, D-P-G)
And go on, make it home 'cause you know people in California can't drive (D-P-G for life)
This is the late-night conversation hour, baby, comin' at you live
It's 2:35 AM from the zone with the balls
The Megatron Max DJ, givin' you the beats back that made us all
Call in if you got somethin' good to say, or even bad, I don't give a damn
That's 3-1-0-D-A-P-O-U-N-D, W Balls, 187.4 FM
On your dial, motherfucker, call in
Caller, caller, yes, you're on the line
Now, what you got to say about that respect?
Are you dyin' over there?"
"Excuse me, I just got through takin' a shit"
"Oh, that's what it is"
"Uh, this is John from John's Adult Toys and Dildos out here in Lakewood
You know, um, I like what you're, I like what you guys are doin'
And I think it's pretty cool"
"You sure you ain't dyin', man?"
"Excuse me"
"But, uh, anyhow, you know, um, we're givin' out five percent discounts, you know
With each rubber that you bought"
"Oh, five percent, huh? You should be givin' up fifty percent as much time you takin' up
Next caller, please, let me hear somebody on the line with somethin' new
And I done hope you wipe yo' ass man"
"Hey, this is Monster-Pooh from Gayside Gangsters, we in the house
All I'll like to know is when you gonna be givin' away some of them tickets?
Ya know what I'm sayin'? And also when can I speak to EZ Dicc?"
"EZ Dicc, he ain't in right now
You need to drink some motherfuckin' Lysol or somethin'
The next caller, caller number ten, you win the tickets so just call in
But right now we wanna play the number one song of the day 'Respect'"

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
