I've been crossing out the days till all of you can hear me sing
And I remember that summer when we all caught our second wind
Well, maybe I'm not the man that I thought I've become
But that's just the way things are where I'm from
When time turns our dreams to more everyday things
We can never lose our pride in what we've done
Still, I've never been one for settling
I've been making a list of the things I won't miss about this love starved town
And everyone who never saw what we were always singing for

Everyone, everyone in this town
(Everyone)
Is sending out the same heavy heart sounds
(In this town)
Running out of patience with our own self-pity
(Sent it out)
But it's good to know that somebody still feels like me
(Send me out)
Everyone, everyone in this town
(Everyone)
Is sending out the same heavy heart sounds
(In this town)
Running out of patience with our own self-pity
(Sent it out)
But it's good to know that somebody still feels like me
(Send me out)

I just get so caught up in these everyday eyes and those sleepless night stares
I stopped being surprised when my friends disappear
And I'm left here wondering where I was
While they packed up all the things that I love
And I've gotten used to not missing you
Over time, I understate all those things that make me separate
While I lay awake and think about everything that I can never be again

Everyone, everyone in this town
(Everyone)
Is sending out the same heavy heart sounds
(In this town)
Running out of patience with our own self-pity
(Sent it out)
But it's good to know that somebody still feels like me
(Send me out)
Everyone, everyone in this town
(Everyone)
Is sending out the same heavy heart sounds
(In this town)
Running out of patience with our own self-pity
(Sent it out)
But it's good to know that somebody still feels like me
(Send me out)

These months that I spend closer to the sun
Have been screaming at me, screaming at me
"Kid, you can't just run away from
Everything that you're always so, so afraid
To let everyone hear you say
Like 'These days, it seems like all I have left are
Outgoing calls to the people who
If they only knew better
Wouldn't care about any of this at all'"

Everyone, everyone in this town
(Everyone)
Is sending out the same heavy heart sounds
(In this town)
Running out of patience with our own self-pity
(Sent it out)
But it's good to know that somebody still feels like me
(Send me out)
Everyone, everyone in this town
(Everyone)
Is sending out the same heavy heart sounds
(In this town)
Running out of patience with our own self-pity
(Sent it out)
But it's good to know that somebody still feels like me
(Send me out)

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
