Goodnight my Love, my lovely Love. Goddamn shame to be a traitor.
I’ve got God in a shoebox under my bed waiting for my finger.
We both look better in the dark so I’ll do it while were sleeping,
that way I will not reflect my father’s defining feature.

The absence of consciousness, welcomes the presence of formulated manipulation.

I won’t feel a thing if you don’t.

Feel what I feel and you’ll find faith to believe in God.
God I need you, because I am familiar with the Devil.
I’ve been waiting for the sun to come and dry up all this rain,
but I’m caught out in the storm.

It’s three a.m. and I’ve got you good. I’ve got you right where I want you.
It must be easy to hold your tongue now with help from a forty-five.
“Next Exit: One Mile” it read, but you’re moving a mile a minute.
That gives you around sixty seconds before you reach your destination.

Where will you go?
I won’t feel a thing if you don’t.

Your safety came with distance but you foolishly fell into consistency.
Place your hand where it does not belong and I’ll be a reminder of your size.
Your steady way mirrors the end, the vibrance that fill the pillow behind the head.
The one you chose to live within, the one that said, that one that says.

Black quite quickly.
White next swiftly.
Oh so sorry.
Buenas Noches.

    My Interpretation

I think this song is about someone waiting to get justice for their partner cheating on them. The sun drying up the rain would be happiness but it doesnt happen and they're stuck in the storm.

God in their shoebox obviously is a gun, and it waiting for their finger means that it would only be fair to use it. The devil is the partner who keeps cheating. "I wont feel a thing if you don't feel what I feel" probably means that they're in love but they wouldnt care to use the gun if its that unrequited.

Now I'm just kinda guessing at the second verse but maybe the exit could resemble heaven or hell? It seems that they're giving their partner a chance to spill and I think it only makes sense if the "it must be easy to hold your tounge" would be sarcastic. The option is there "Where will you go?"

"Your safety came with distance but you foolishly fell into consistency" means that the cheater never really liked being close but the singer went along with it anyway because they loved them. "Place your hand where it does not belong" means to cheat, and the "vibrance that fills the pillow behind my head" keeps them up all night. "The one you chose to live within" means that the cheater committed and what they're doing is fucked up.

    My Interpretation

To me, this song reads about feeling split in two. The narrator is the "traitor" who is falling victim to depression and dark feelings in private despite wanting to be better for the sake of loved ones in public. Having this darker aspect to who he is obviously straining to his mental well-being and he contemplates killing himself to be free of it (God waiting underneath his bed in a shoe box being his mode of suicide). The narrator likens this "traitor" side of himself to his father, someone with traits or vices he fears he himself had inherited.

As he is contemplating killing off these sides to his being, he thrust further into a train of thought associated with his "traitor" side, seeing as how suicide itself is a dark thing to ponder. When he says "I won't feel a thing if you don't" I believe he is speaking to his father, who he feels is responsible passing on to him the ability to have such horrible thoughts, and would be able to relate.

When he says that if you feel what I feel, you'll find faith to believe in god he is suggesting that he is experiencing such emotional turmoil that it will scare you into searching for a god.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
