It doesn't matter what car you drive
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter where you sleep at night
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter where you go to work
It doesn't matter where you go to church
It doesn't matter just how bad it hurts
She'll wreck it
My bleached bones in the desert is all she's left of me
Poison ivy in your touch
Being with you destroyed so much
Home wrecker
Deadly venom in your kiss
Hell can't be worse than this
Home wrecker
It doesn't matter what you pretend
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter what you defend
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter how you live your life
It doesn't matter anymore to your wife
It doesn't matter even how you died
She'll wreck that too
Like a vulture picking my bones clean, it's all that's left of me
Poison ivy in your touch
Being with you destroyed so much
Home wrecker
Deadly venom in your kiss
Hell can't be worse than this
Home wrecker
Doesn't matter where you live
Doesn't matter what you drive
Home wrecker
Poison ivy in your touch
Being with you destroyed so much
Home wrecker
Deadly venom in your kiss
Hell can't be worse than this
Home wrecker
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter where you sleep at night
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter where you go to work
It doesn't matter where you go to church
It doesn't matter just how bad it hurts
She'll wreck it
Being with you destroyed so much
Home wrecker
Deadly venom in your kiss
Hell can't be worse than this
Home wrecker
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter what you defend
She'll wreck it
It doesn't matter how you live your life
It doesn't matter anymore to your wife
It doesn't matter even how you died
She'll wreck that too
Being with you destroyed so much
Home wrecker
Deadly venom in your kiss
Hell can't be worse than this
Home wrecker
Doesn't matter what you drive
Home wrecker
Being with you destroyed so much
Home wrecker
Deadly venom in your kiss
Hell can't be worse than this
Home wrecker

I think it's interesting that the song starts with wrecker and becomes homewrecker. The wrecker could just be someone you're acquainted with who seems to leave messes in her wake. The homewrecker has to be more specific. I imagine the guy has to be in a committed relationship and the woman has to know that and be trying to break that up.
I wonder if this is referring to someone in Dave's when he was dating, before he got married, or if the inspiration came from other sources outside of his personal life. Drugs or alcohol could also be "wreckers" but aren't associated with gender.
