Mein Land (English) Lyrics

Where are you going, where?
I'm going with myself from East to South
Where are you going, where?
I'm going with myself from South to West
Where are you going, where?
I'm going with myself from West to North

There he comes running, with his flag in his hand
My country!
My country!

You are here in my country
My will and my beach
My country!
My will and my beach

Where are you going, where?
I'm going with myself from North to East
Where are you going, where?
I'm going with myself from East to West
Where are you going, where?
I'm going with myself from West to East

Here they come running, with their flags in their hands
My country!
They scream:
My country!

You are here in my country
My will and my beach
My country!
You are here in my country
My will and beach
My country!
My palm trees and my sand, yes!

A voice from the light
Falls from the sky's face
Tears the horizon in two
Where are you going? Nothing more here is free

That is my country!
That is my country!
That is my country!
That is my country!
My country!
My country!
My country!

Cover art for Mein Land (English) lyrics by Rammstein

This entire song is easily biblical in nature, but you must see the apocryphal scrolls and book of Enoch to see it. I sincerely wonder if Rammstein knew what they were writing, or how coincidentally this lined up with a much larger spiritual narrative.

This song must be heard, as instrumentally it is a masterpiece.

Where are you going, where? I'm going with myself from East to South Where are you going, where? I'm going with myself from South to West Where are you going, where? I'm going with myself from West to North

This is similar to the conversation God had with Satan who presented himself in the congregation. And his reply was similar...roaming about the earth and going back and forth in it.

There he comes running, with his flag in his hand My country! My country!

You are here in my country My will and my beach My country! My will and my beach

Psalm 49:11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

The lyrics continue in such a way to denote passing through and acquiring lands, which is an occupation that has greater emphasis at the very end of the age...but has been a driving focus down to this day.

Where are you going, where? I'm going with myself from North to East Where are you going, where? I'm going with myself from East to West Where are you going, where? I'm going with myself from West to East

Here they come running, with their flags in their hands My country! They scream: My country!

You are here in my country My will and my beach My country! You are here in my country My will and beach My country! My palm trees and my sand, yes!

This next passage is important, finalizing the context of the song:

A voice from the light Falls from the sky's face Tears the horizon in two Where are you going? Nothing more here is free

This is where this song takes on its meaning. It is not about immigration or present issues. The voice falling from heaven, that comes from the light, is similar to what Nebucachezzar heard in Daniel: a voice fell from heaven and condemned him.

The tearing of the horizon in two has to do with the melting of the elements at the end of the age, when God visits, to give rewards to the righteous and the wicked.

So the one speaking changes, a mocking of the first speaker:

That is my country! That is my country! That is my country! That is my country! My country! My country! My country!

And then the condemnation:

Banished, my land Banishing, my land Forgotten, my land I've got no place to stay My land

This has to do with the wicked (the conquerors of this earth) being driven to outer darkness, or from the face of the earth.

Endnote: Heavy metal lyrics are always deep in meaning and in inspiration. I believe the writers do not always know what they are writing because it comes through another voice. Rammstein with their gritty Japeth-like nordic-race voice was perfect for this. This song is timeless.
