Basically, it means that in real life, she's with a guy who's not that great or not her dream guy (as he's always not spending the night with her or being romantic). In her dreams, she dreams of a guy who is basically her "Mr. Right". She doesn't think that Mr. Right is going to come along and things are always going to be the way they are. But then in the last verse, she meets Mr. Right and things are finally happening in real life the way she dreamed.
