Perhaps it's about a guy/girl who is anxious to see someone fail. He is angry...feeling put off by her and he wants his revenge. He's unhappy at this time and blames her for his problems. What once drew him to her is what he now hates/resents. Her presence in his life is 'dragging' him down, or so he feels. The "bite my tongue" part is perhaps him sitting back as she fails; he'd like to tell her to F off, but he's content with his sideline seat. A very angry song, but a good one.

Well this is what I could make out by listening to the song a fair few times, this song is amazing! :D There was a few parts that I wasn't so sure about so I hope someone can correct it :P Remember that this is what I could make out by ear.. >.<

I think this is about the music industry and how messed up it is. For instance when it says:

"I might be proud, but atleast im proud of something, You've taken pride in becoming nothing."

That's just my perception.

i think it's from the perspective of someone falling out of love with a partner and consciously trying to establish a distance. throughout the song he talks about growing to hate and resent someone, and he's trying to hate her, but it will always be a struggle to turn himself against the person who made him who he is.

"I'm gonna fall asleep" should be "I'm gonna follow suit" "I slow this down" should be, "I'll slow this down" "Oh baby I" should be "Oh maybe I"

and there's so many other mistakes I don't really want to take the time to fix it. but bigmoe has it pretty close, aside from the "our level" bit.

this song is NOT about love or any type of romantic relationship. obviously a friendship type relationship, the other selling out.

I read that this song was written when yma6 were on the verge of breaking up.

I love this band!!! This song is incredible! I was looking for the song Dilemma on here, and could not find it. Dilemma has to be my favourite! Joshua is half English and half French, I had to look it up, because he looked so French and though his name Franceschi is of Italian origins, there are a lot of Franceschis in France.

I absolutely love this song, especially when Oli just rips shit up.

I listened to this song the other day and got the sort of vibe this song was aimed at the producers of the band. The music industry. This part of the song is what gave me that sort of feeling:

Even the line "I'm married to the music" could support that YMAS is saying "No, we want the music, not the cash".
