Perhaps it's about a guy/girl who is anxious to see someone fail. He is angry...feeling put off by her and he wants his revenge. He's unhappy at this time and blames her for his problems. What once drew him to her is what he now hates/resents. Her presence in his life is 'dragging' him down, or so he feels.
