Under And Over It Lyrics
Yeah go!
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me, being a drunk?
So did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another fucking sheep in the herd?
Did you hear about the money, how it made me change?
So funny to me, all the time that they waste!
Did you hear the one about me, giving a shit?
Cause if I ever did, I don't remember it!
You can be me, and I will be you.
You can live just like a star.
I'll take my sin,
And you take the fame!
I'm under and over it all
I'm under and over it!
Did you hear the one about me playing the game?
Selling my soul and changing my name.
Did you hear the one about me being a prick?
Did you know I don't care? You can suck my
D-Did you hear the one about me trying to die?
Fist in the air and a finger to the sky.
Do I care if you hate me? Do you wanna know the truth?
C'est la vie, adios, good riddance, fuck you!
You can be me and I will be you.
You can live just like a star.
I'll take my sanity, you take the fame.
I'm under and over it all.
(I'm under and over it.)
I - I - I'm under and over it.
I - I - I'm under and over it.

This song is about quantum mechanics, because he is saying he is over and under it. The rest of the lyrics notwithstanding, this song is clearly supposed to be a representation of quantum physics in a visible and physical sense (literal) and in an emotional (figurative) sense. This song is very groundbreaking because the latter has not been explored much in a scientific sense. He is either in two places at once (literal interpretation) or feeling two opposite things at once (figurative). Quantum mechanics revolves around the idea of the dual particle-like and wave-like behavior and interaction of matter and energy. Popular demonstrations of this include Schrodinger's cat and the double slit experiment, both of which attempt to show this concept in a physical sense. This song attempts to show the same thing, but in a metaphysical sense as well as physical. This concept was first put forward by Werner Heisenberg with his uncertainty principal, and no doubt this song will go a long way to expanding on his theories because of the groundbreaking new viewpoint here. Rock on, 5FDP rock on.
no you idiot the song is clearly about a grilled cheese sandwich

In that case... thank you Grilled Chessus for FFDP!

I fucking love you.
I fucking love you.
@darthhomer12 So your saying I should go out with Leonard?

I think this song is about how so many bands let their fame change them, and that FFDP is better than that (eg. "I'll take my sanity, you take the fame"). They're not going to let the money turn them into different people, and they won't let their label or any new fanbase let them change their sound either. The song is all about how FFDP still has it in them, and they're here to stay.
Well, C'est la vie'.adiós' is a mix of French (that's life) and Spanish (good bye). I think all of the 'did you hear' are rumors that circulate around the press and stuff. The "You can live just like a star. I'll take my sanity, you take the fame." I think this is about how fame changes people too. Obviously the "I'm under and over it all" means it doesn't affect him and his group.

Ivan has even said at live concerts, it's basically about people spreading rumors about him.
So fucking happy to hear that they maintaned their soumd. i have to admit that i was a little scared that they might change the music because of the radio sucess that their less metal/more hard rock side garnered. but my mind is now at ease.
this song is about how when people get famous they have to deal with all the tabloid bullshit that comes with success. 5FDP wrote this song to show that they're not giving into the the bullshit. the official music video also makes fun of the cliches of rap and hip hop music, said Jason Hook their guitarist. check it out, it'll all make sense.
P.S. sick song, especially getting to see it live!
This song is about how there lead singer found rumors, about five finger death punch and how that the rumors wont affect how the band acts, or behaves together, They also make up new rumors to show how idiotic and time wasteful the media is sometimes
Before he wrote the song, there were a bunch of rumors about Moody, the rest of the band, and their families. I think he's sort of using this song like an anthem, just saying that he doesn't care what anyone thinks or says, they won't change the band.
Alright, well the second line of the second verse “selling my souls and changing my name”. Did anybody else this of Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold, and Rockstar by Nickelback? Both are which about changing yourself and becoming famous, or about sin and all that? I feel like it’s a reference, or even a subtle clapback to those songs.
