Blame Lyrics

I know you must know it now
My organs have stoned
My fingers are numb around
Your warm, pulsing throat
And I whispered, "My wife,"
She opens her pale eyes
She smiled, so I smiled
And I got what I deserved

This house was my flowered heart
But my petals have fallen
Do you love him, tell me now,
Or I'll show you my scars
And you will bow boldly
And tell me you're sorry
But you're hardly moving
Wake up and give me what I know I deserve

Farmer's wife heard it from the street down below
And later fully recalled each harrowing note
And she will cry,
"Holy Spirit has cursed me."
And for this my ending sooner than I deserved"

The children were lucky to have only used ears
As I stood on top of him looking down,
I felt the fear in their skin they plead,
"Father, did you kill our leader?
Our rock and great teacher?
What did he deserve?"
And I replied,
"No, killed my leeches.
And the wound that has freed us.
I hope you can see it
for what I deserve."

The judge would ask, "Why again, was it him and not her?"
The only response I could think was, "To settle my nerves."
And try killing my leeches for sucking me speechless
abandoning secrets and trust all the same
So I deserve what I deserve
So I deserve what I deserve

I think the line is "the wound the has freed us"

I totally agree with you on that.

"the wound that is foetid"

"The children WERE lucky to have only used ears." This implies that the children only heard the crime and didn't see it, which makes more sense in context.

The children watched him kill the man which is why they WEREN'T lucky enough to only have used ears (hearing about it second hand)

and to explain why they asked if he had killed him, they didn't know whether the man was dead or not. they had never experienced something so extreme. it's almost like a child taking off the head of a bug then asking if it is dead.

He repeats the word "deserve" I feel Andi is saying that really, we deserve nothing. The Sailor in his insanity, feels he "deserves" to murder, to feel happy.

Story wise, in the story, The Sailor has finally returned from sea and murders his brother, with his wife and kids watching.

Been waiting too long for the third and final chapter to be released but this makes me feel a little better about the wait!

I think the second line is "my organs have stoned", which would make more sense... as in his heart. I also have no clue on the "wound" line, no matter how many times I listen to it... hope someone can figure that out! I am literally in emotional angst awaiting this third and final chapter.... when, oh, when, Andy???

I wish Andy would play more of these songs at his shows! I'm so excited to see how the story ends!

There will be little changes here and there from whatever version this is from, to he current release of it. For example...

Line 2- "my ORGANS? have stoned"

Also in the first verse, some things have changed to present tense- "And I WHISPER, "My wife,"/She OPENS her pale eyes"

Later in the second verse- "...each harrowing note./AND SHE WILL CRY/Holy Spirit cursed me/For this my ending sooner THAN I DESERVE"

And in the last verse- "The only RESPONSE I could think was..."

Don't know if he included lyrics with the physical album, but this is what I hear on the non-demo version:

I know you must know it now, my organs have stoned My fingers are numb around your warm, pulsing throat. And I whisper, “My wife.” She opens her pale eyes. She smiled so I smiled and I got what I deserved.

This house was my floured hear, my petals have fallen Do you love him, tell me now or I’ll show you my scars And you will bow boldly And tell me your sorry But you’re hardly moving, wake up and give me what I know I deserve

The farmer’s wife heard it from the street down below And later fully recalled each harrowing note And she would cry, “Holy spirit has cursed me. And for this my ending, sooner that I deserve."

The children weren’t lucky to have only used ears As I stood on top of him looking down, I felt the fear in their skin. They plead, “Father, Did you kill our leader? Our rock and great teacher, what did he deserve?” And I replied, “No, killed my leeches And the wound that has freed us. I hope you can see it for what I deserve.”

The judge would ask, “Why, again, was it him and not her?” The only response I could think was to ‘settle my nerve’ And try killing my leeches for sucking me speechless Abandoning secrets and trust all the same. So I deserve what I deserve. I deserve what I deserve.
