Father Brian Finn Lyrics

And I felt the wind
Blow on my face
Growing our wings
Feeling the fate
And I held my son
Up in my hands
Follow me child
Follow me man
To the promise land

And I held a gun
And you held my hand
Stitched in a cloth
Wrapped in my head

And I knew the cure
but not the demand
don’t cut off your legs
To anger your hands

And I made a truce
its thicker than stone
In a desperate wife
Your desperate husband
You wouldn’t stray
But how far did you go
A curse on your home
And the mighty atoned

So fake me disease?
The bottom of me
Is emptier now
God than its ever been
And I couldn’t believe
That id ever see
Stop talking to me
And give me some peace
Cause I need one more sign
The limbs of the tree
Stop talking to me
I swear I believe
Cause I need one more sign
As Gideon weeps
Im down on my knees
And I’m freezing
So now I can see
The limbs in the trees

Does anybody know if this is related to father brian Finn from the movie keeping the faith? There us a woman named Anna in the movie. Brian loves anna but secretly she has been seeing his friend. The name struck me at first . . First father brian Finn, then anna. Then I became curious about the plot as well. Thoughts?

his wife's name is Suzanna. ("my visions of suzanna drinking missiles" Memories on a Desk pt 1) Anna must be a nickname.

andy hull posted recently on his myspace that the third album begins with the hero standing over his dead brother. he killed him and i think he family saw.

i hear it as "stitched in a chord" the dilemma over love (you held my hand) and his desire for murder (i held a gun) is playing over and over in his head, thus the next line "wrapped in my head"

I hear, "And I knew the cure, but not the demand" and also instead of, "in a desperate way, your desperate heart's mine", i hear "A desperate wife, a desperate husband". Anybody else?
