Burn Away Lyrics
She's out of sight
He's out of mind
They've always lived in the castle
The poisoned nights
And moving lights
They're inside out of their window
There's a fire in the city of pictures
Leaving nothing but ashes below
It's only forever for a day
Tomorrow is burning away
Burn away
She's out of touch
He's out of time
They'll always live in the castle
The fading flower
The passing hours
They fall like sand through their fingers
There's a fire in the city of pictures
Leaving nothing but ashes below
It's only forever for a day
Tomorrow is burning away
Burn away, burn away, burn away
There's a fire in the city of pictures
Leaving nothing but ashes below
It's only forever for a day
Tomorrow is burning away
Burn away, burn away, burn away
He's out of mind
They've always lived in the castle
And moving lights
They're inside out of their window
Leaving nothing but ashes below
It's only forever for a day
Tomorrow is burning away
He's out of time
They'll always live in the castle
The passing hours
They fall like sand through their fingers
Leaving nothing but ashes below
It's only forever for a day
Tomorrow is burning away
Leaving nothing but ashes below
It's only forever for a day
Tomorrow is burning away

The song is about the book "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" by Shirley Jackson. I think the song is mainly referring to the scene of the Blackwood Manor fire, as the lines "She's out of sight, he's out of mind" and "she's out of touch, he's of time" is a direct reference to Constance, who hid from the angry villagers during the fire with her sister Mary, and their cousin Charles, who was pretty much going mad at the scene of the fire since it was all his fault. "The poisoned nights" refers to the night of the murders that happened 6 years prior to the events of the book, when somebody had slipped arsenic in the sugar bowl.
It's a great song and a great book. TBM did such an awesome job captivating the scene of the fire in the song. :)
I agree with thebansh33, I've never read the book before. But it kinda fits what I've heard from other about it.. I love the song, and hope to one day read the book. :)

When I first hear a song I would like to know the lyrics right away and those 'idiots' you're referring to give us an opportunity to recieve the gist of the lyrics. As for the lyrics you typed out..they're exactly the same as the ones hundredskies gave us aside from the fact you put two burn away's on the second to last chorus and hundredskies did not. You make yourself out to be an idiot by making such a huge deal out of nothing. Hundredskies, thanks for the post!
