Call Me In The Morning Lyrics
Well I don't know where you're going
But I know where you've been
I've been tracing all your footsteps
I've been counting up your sins
A ticking bomb
A false alarm
A recking ball
You left before I had the chance to say:
Just call me in the morning
Call me when your home
I know what you've been through
Don't let go
Don't let go
Oh you reached into my mouth
pulled out a single bloody tooth
I've never shown that to anyone
No, no one knows but you.
A ticking bomb
A false alarm
A recking ball
I left before you had the chance to say
Just call me in the morning
Call me when your home
I know what you've been through
Don't let go honey don't let go
Just call me in the morning
Call me when your home
I know what you've been through
Don't let go
You never knew that it would take so long to understand,
you're right where you belong.
I don't know where were going
but I know where we've been.
We've been hiding from each other,
we've been hiding from our sins.
Call me in the morning!
Call me when your home!
I know what you've been through
Don't let go!
Don't know where were going,
but I know where we've been.
We've been hiding from each other,
we've been hiding from our sins.
Call me when your home,
I know what you've been through.
Don't let go.
But I know where you've been
I've been tracing all your footsteps
I've been counting up your sins
A ticking bomb
A false alarm
A recking ball
You left before I had the chance to say:
Just call me in the morning
Call me when your home
I know what you've been through
Don't let go
Don't let go
Oh you reached into my mouth
pulled out a single bloody tooth
I've never shown that to anyone
No, no one knows but you.
A ticking bomb
A false alarm
A recking ball
I left before you had the chance to say
Just call me in the morning
Call me when your home
I know what you've been through
Don't let go honey don't let go
Just call me in the morning
Call me when your home
I know what you've been through
Don't let go
You never knew that it would take so long to understand,
you're right where you belong.
I don't know where were going
but I know where we've been.
We've been hiding from each other,
we've been hiding from our sins.
Call me in the morning!
Call me when your home!
I know what you've been through
Don't let go!
Don't know where were going,
but I know where we've been.
We've been hiding from each other,
we've been hiding from our sins.
Call me when your home,
I know what you've been through.
Don't let go.

I think it's about someone who you used to be very very close to. Someone who said they'd never leave, and you promised each other you'd always be there for each other. Then, they changed... and you know the person who you loved and felt so connected with is still in there somewhere, yet there is nothing you can do, because they no longer want anything to do with you, so you just want to tell them that when the one you knew comes back, and they stop being this new, horrible person, they're to cal you, and you can make up and go back to being close. Or so you hope. You know deep down, they probably never will come back...
its about that perosn you never want to stop talking to,.
Hands down the best one in the album (and my favorite). So much emotion, so many background meaning. I think everyone could give their interpretation and feel like this song speaks to them. To me, it's about that one person that you simply can't live without, the one who knows your sins but wants you by their side anyway. And then this person reaches some kind of situation where, despite anger or frustration, you let it know you'll be there no matter what. Amazing.
This is definitely one of the best songs from the new album.
First off I want to say I think this is Taking Back Sunday's best ballad to date! The 1st few listens I was confused about this verse:
Oh you reached into my mouth pulled out a single bloody tooth I've never shown that to anyone No, no one knows but you.
But I think I understand the meaning now. Well at least I know what it means to me. the single bloody tooth is a reference to a secret he has been holding inside that this person was able to get him to reveal. they reached in, got close, and he exposed himself. it's brilliant!
