This song is brilliant! The riffs and especially the catchy chorus is masterfully done. The Black Dahlia Murder have become one of my favourity bands; heavy, catchy, METAL!! And I agree with MorphingPretzel, this song is about a man transforming into a werewolf.
Didn't think they could top their last album. Well, I was wrong.
At first I just thought this song was just about werewolves too but the more I listened to it the more I started thinking it was about another Castlevania game. Lords Of Shadows. There are subtle things in it and obvious stuff like all the werewolf talk but then the part that really made me think it could be about that game is:

SPOILERS FOR THE GAME
There is a part in the game where the main character goes to sleep one night and ends up being forced to kill a companion. Throughout most of the game he is being guided by his mentor who at the end of the game turns out to be Lucifer.
Well, from just listening/reading, it seems pretty obvious what the meaning behind this song is. My impression is, it's about the transformation from man into a werewolf.
Such a catchy song though, one of my favorites from Ritual.
Fighting the urge to transform and kill. Simple as that.
Lycanthropy never gets old, especially with Strnad's lyrics.
