All the things you like
Guided by their charms
Behind them safely store
Wrap your greedy arms around them all

Sail don't try to steer just sail
You can be hell of a force with the button to a broken man
Because

You know I'm impatient
I've been hounded down before
The diving bell keeps surfacing
It doesn't ring anymore

Did the little boy only get his orders from himself
Did the whole world revolve his middle class act
The girl next door hears voices in her head every night
The mother's tears that he's bringing home trash from the pile

You know I'm impatient
I've been hounded down before
The diving bell keeps surfacing
It doesn't ring anymore

Wife still believes life settles like a stream of dust through the beams you lose you underneath

Did the little boy on his pedestal
And the girl next once the voice is gone
And did the whole world and the mothers tears sink the sunshine on the back field
The grasping is hand is never full
And the perfect life is just damaged goods
And you should have talked and you should talk too
Because in twenty years you'll be a mute

The song is a lesson/warning on love, told from someone older and wiser, and clearly jaded in love.....to someone who is dealing with finding "perfection" in love, and possibly dealing with letting go of a BAD relationship. KEEPING YOUR IDENTITY AND BELIEFS AND NEVER BACKING DOWN...is the theme. It breaks down like this:

"ALL THE THINGS YOU LIKE GUIDED BY THEIR CHAMS BEHIND THEM SAFELY STORE WRAP YOUR GREEDY HANDS AROUND THEM ALL"

The person is saying... Better hang on tightly, to all the things about your identity and your interests. Keep your soul safe with that person and never let it go.

"SAIL DONT STEER JUST SAIL YOU CAN BE A HELL OF A FORCE WITH THE BUTTON TO A BROKEN MAN BECAUSE"

Here she starts to show her victimized side. Almost blaming herself for what she has gone through in her own relationship. She tells the person not to try to control things, just go with the flow. If you start to push your "dudes" buttons you'll push him away because he already is not perfect.

"YOU KNOW IM IMPATIENT IVE BEEN HOUNDED DOWN BEFORE THE DIVING BELL KEEPS SURFACING IT DOESNT RING ANYMORE"

The thing about a diving bell is that the occupants inside dont have any control of whether the bell is lowered or raised. They are inside and able to return after various deep sea diving. She has grown impatient that she has been under the control of someone else and not able to explore life at will. She's also been hounded for thinking she should even have that right. On top of that the person controlling the bell, has also either lost interest in "manning" the tether, or simply doesnt allow such self exploration anymore. The loss of ring, is simply a pun suggesting that it doesnt even matter she's voiceless trapped inside, there is no care from anywhere over it.

"DID THE LITTLE BOY ONLY HIS GET HIS ORDERS FROM HIMSELF DID THE WHOLE WORLD REVOLVE AROUND HIS MIDDLE CLASS ACT THE GIRL NEXT DOOR HEARS VOICES IN HEAD EVERY NIGHT THE MOTHERS TEARS THAT HES BRINGING HOME TRASH FROM THE PILE"

The girl getting the lesson, wonders if the "teachers" man in question, never get a lesson on how to behave in a relationship, and was he really this selfish. She calls the other woman, the girl next door. The voices in her head are from the cheating man, telling her he loves her etc etc.

"WIFE STILL BELIEVES LIFE SETTLES LIKE A STREAM OF DUST THROUGH THE BEAMS YOU LOSE YOU UNDERNEATH"

The chorus repeats the loss of self, while the other person sees she has just accepted her fate. She has let it fall around her, and though the "problem" may have settled pieces of it are still sometimes very visible. So visible, that she no longer knows or remembers what life or her identity was prior to the relationship.

"DID THE LITTLE BOY ON HIS PEDESTAL AND THE GIRL NEXT DOOR ONCE THE VOICE IS GONE AND DID THE WHOLE WORLD AND MOTHERS TEARS SINK THE SUN SHINE ON THE BACK FIELD THE GRASPING HAND IS NEVER FULL AND THE PERFECT LIFE IS JUST DAMAGED GOODS AND YOU SHOULD HAVE TALKED AND YOU SHOULD TALK TOO BECAUSE IN TWENTY YEARS YOULL BE A MUTE"

The person getting the lesson finally wonders if this selfish man lost himself too, as well as the other woman once he was gone from her life. She wonders does everyone just let this happen? Are all women in committed relationships just supposed to accept this sort of happening and forget their dream of a happy life? She then realizes that no one is happy. Not even the guy cheating and searching. That the seemingly perfect life is effed up from every angle in the end. However, she tells the teacher that she should have said something...and is cut off by the teacher telling her... "YOU SHOULD SAY SOMETHING TOO, and stand up for yourself...because otherwise you'll be like me".

It is called BOUY, because bouys are placed in one spot, never to move.... only swaying and bobbing, from the way the water decideds to move them. A BOUY IS ALSO A WARNING OF A SPOT TO AVOID, OR GUIDE YOURSELF AROUND... IN OPEN WATER.

I LOVE THIS JAM. SO SICK

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
