Sleepwalk away your life if that turns you on
It's only the moment,
Look away and it's gone
It's about time that your mind took a holiday
You're all grown up,
Don't you ever wanna play?

Ah, you've had enough
Of staring out of deaden eyes
Ah, it's gonna be tough
The battle's on and so is the prize
I don't know what it is I'm feelin'
A four letter word really gets my meaning
Nothing ever lasts
Forever

Get on your feet we're going out of our minds
The wheels need to roll
The clock on the wall said its time
Call in love, call in whatever you please
It's not what you wanted,
It might be just what you need

Ah, you've had enough,
It feels like you've blown a fifty amp fuse,
Ah, it's gonna be tough
The more you have the more you can lose
I don't know what it is I'm feelin'
A four letter word really gets my meaning
Nothing ever lasts
Forever

Ah, you've had enough
Of staring out of deaden eyes
Ah, it's gonna be tough
The battle's on and so is the prize
I don't know what it is I'm feelin'
A four letter word really get's my meaning
Nothing ever lasts
Forever

And nothing ever lasts forever
Nothing ever lasts forever
Nothing ever lasts forever

    It might be:

    "There's always a prize"

This is something isn't it? Tis a drop in the ocean in rock n roll terms.

Yep it seems Liam is giving Noel the tough love here. And that just sounds wrong oops.

    Ahh can't believe no-ones noticed.

It's about the end of Oasis, Liam's use of foul language which can be disruptive for his older bro, and thats what brought the curtain down.

Then at the end "Nothing ever lasts forever" -

    • 'Get over it, Oasis is dead,' he tells the fans..... til they reform for charity in the year 2030 or something.

Oh, 50amp fuse, could be related to when Noel stamped on a guitar after their row, not sure.

Just think of the day when they'll tell the story in full detail - a film about the band, they'll re-enact all the rows and the one that ended it all. That will be something to look forward to but it's a long way off!

As an Oasis fan of 15 years it doesn't take much scratching at the surface to see this is written as a dig (or brotherly advice to Noel)

"Sleepwalk away the life If that turns you on Its only a moment Look away and its gone"

This reflects the fact that Liam feels that Noel has thrown away something special, it is also reflective of Liam's view that Noel has turned into a bore who (from Liams point of view) would prefer to be at home "picking his pissing toe nails" rather than living life.

"Its about time That your mind took a holiday Youre all grown up Dont you ever wanna play?"

Again reflective of Liams view that Noel has turned into a middle aged bore.

"Youve had enough Staring out of dead end eyes Its gonna be tough The battles on and your soul is the prize"

He's saying that you are worn out. The "eyes" are a shortcut to the "soul" which is lost and empty in Liams opinion.

"I dont know what it is Im feeling A four letter word really gets my meaning Nothing ever lasts forever"

Noel made a few jibes about Liam intellegence and his vocabulary throughout the years - this is Liams way of saying that he can say what he needs to in a four letter rant at Noel. He also refers to his relationship with Noel whan he says Nothing ever lasts forever.

"Get on your feeling Going out of your mind The wheel needs to roll The clock on the wall says its time"

He is saying that Noel felt that the time was up for Oasis, that he was out of his mind but that he needed to go because that's how he felt.

"Call it love Call it whatever you please Its not what you want It be might just what you need"

He is talking about tough brotherly love here - basically "you dont want to hear this brother but you need to and I'm gonna tell you"

"Youve had enough It feels like youve blown A 50amp fuse"

Noel had emough and walked out. A 50amp fuse is a big fuse. He's basically saying that he watched his brother blow a fuse and walk out on the band.

"Its gonna be tough The more you have The more you can loose"

Straight forward really - you have walked out on the most important band in the world and we've lost something massive.

That's my take on it but I'd lay my house on ot that I'm right.

There will be loads of songs that people will say are about the split but that is over analysing.

To me this is the one about the split, Liam will say it here and it wont be toched on again in the songwriting.

For me this is their Rock N' Roll Star only more angry. The walz chords are like RNRS. RNRS was the opener for Oasis back in the start and 4LW is the opener for Beady Eye so for me there are a few parrallels.

Cracker song - looking forward to hearing it live in a few weeks time.

As this song was written by Andy and not Liam, it is not a dig at Noel by Liam.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
