It's about depression...about the highs and lows that come with depression,ï»¿ and then the balance with the medication "super heavy elements" "I feel myself falling"...What's clever is how The melody of the song works like Mania....Dark paranoid lyrics that swing from serious to peppy...It has you going Hmmm interesting.... and then you spazz out through the chorus :D

I always thought of this song as a song describing being medicated for depression. Doctors watching your reactions to different medications. "I'm at the mercy of unwanted emotions" - having to deal with emotions from depression. "Give me half as much, but twice as fast today" - Changing the measurements and times to take medication. I could go more into it but it really feels like the ups and downs to find the right treatment.
