I feel bruised from the inside vibes
I'm on the outside of this beautiful day
And the road that winds it's way through the diamond lakes
Forests, hills, and seagulls, belong to you on the inside vibes
I'm on the outside of your world

I'm so surprised, shocked, confused
Caught between the topsoil and the stones is like my mind
As I run and hide across it's surface
I'm looking for a way to heal this jagged heart

Torn between you and the sky

(Torn between you and the sky)

Torn between you and the sky
Torn between you and the sky
Touching where the tearing is, out on the edge
Tasting for my truth
Torn between you and the sky
Caught between you and the sky

I'm charging forward, crashing through the thickets in my way
As I search the hills, the roads between, worlds unseen
Anything to calm my stormy panic as I finally get
Just how much I love you

I remember the beach, you on the rocks
I'm running away to find myself, to calm the tears in my heart
Touch the source of life that's all that keeps me sane
When I look back to see your body glowing in the sun
Are you leaving now? You're tearing me up

(Dia daya dum, daya dia daya dum, dia daya dum dayum dayum…)

Torn between you and the sky
Torn between you and the sky
I'm calling you
Touching where the tearing is, out on the edge
Tasting for my truth
Torn between you and the sky
Caught between you and the sky
Meet me at the edges beyond the Maya

(Torn between you and the sky)

Dia daya dum, daya dia daya dum, dia daya dum dayum dayum
Dia daya dum, daya dia daya dum, dia daya dum dayum dum dum dum

Touching where the tearing is, out on the edge
Tasting for my truth
Torn between you and the sky
Caught between you and the sky
Meet me at the edges beyond the Maya

Torn between you and the sky
Torn between you and the sky
Torn between you and the sky
Caught between you and the sky
Meet me at the edges beyond the Maya

I'm so surprised, shocked, confused caught between the topsoil and the stones is like my mind
Run and hide
I'm so surprised, shocked, confused caught between the topsoil and the stones is like my mind
Run and hide
I'm so surprised, shocked, confused caught between the topsoil and you

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
