Sinner's Prayer Lyrics

To love the right,
yet do so wrong.
To be the weak,
yet burn to be so strong.

go rider, although your ride has been through life.
go rider, i see your soul through the devils eyes.

if i could live my life again,
would i have lived that life insane?

go rider, go ride into the night
go rider, now see your soul through a woman's eyes

i am a sinner
hold my prayers up to the sun
i am a sinner
heavens closed for what I've done

what have i done
what have i done?

i am sinner hold my prayers up to the sun
i am sinner
heavens closed for what I've done

heavens closed for what I've done

This sounds to me like a guy who has been through alot of struggles throughout his life and has not made the best of decisions. While still humbly asking for forgiveness, he doesn't believe that he will get to Heaven because of the sins he has made and is coming to terms with that. For everyone listening to this song, know that if you truly desire and ASK for forgiveness and righteousness in your life and are willing to commit to making a change, then Heaven will NEVER be closed to you because of your sins, at least in this life. The next life I'm not so sure of... What do you think?

Actually rottenchain, the word's in this song "Mumbo Jumbo" come from the movie "The Expendables" They give each other a cheers of "mumbo jumboblah blah blah" so on so forth at the end of the movie. This song was written based on that cheers (because when tracks are written for a movie the artist watches the movie minus music before he writes the song/s. The scene with this song was cut out of the beginning of the movie because of poor film angles and editing. But the film ends just as how it begins with the mercenaries flying home after another successful mission. SO going with the deleted scene from the movie

Wyburn21 is the winner of this round of song meanings. but it has nothing to do with animism. It has to do with living with your actions and sticking to your beliefs, and asking for forgiveness.

I love this song. I know it was written for The Expendables but I think it fits Ghost Rider nicely. What do you guys think?

I believe this this song is about his struggle with religion .No matter what he does right or wrong .It is a sin no matter his path through life..but living his life the best way he is capable .... doesn't believe he is good enough for heaven...but his spiritually is very strong still in his heart and soul

Whenever I hear this song, my thoughts always jump straight to Marvel's character Ghost Rider, especially if you know the background each one has. Each one has a person they love (the right) but they always are swept by the power of the Rider and do the wrong (commit a sin whether it be killing or in Johnny Blazes case, cures his fathers cancer only to have him die later) and how they hope to be free of their curse. Then the "heaven's closed for what I have done..." is their thoughts knowing that all the death they have brought means they may never find true peace. The story of the Ultimate Sinner who who's Prayers will never be fulfilled...

I understand this song. I think I do. I mean I know we all have a way of making songs our own. I\'m 2 years as an addict in recovery as of today. 2 years exactly. Been a long 2 years I\'ll tell you what.\n\nAnyway... Is somebody that lived a horrible horrible life for quite a while... You could definitely say I\'m something of a sinner I guess. I\'m agnostic so I don\'t really do that religious thing but even as a euphemism or as a metaphor I get it. You know if you live a life full of anguish pain sorrow and hurt and destruction... If you make it out... I hope and I pray you gain some wisdom along the way. I know I did. I use my stories to help people. The wisdom that I gained. And a lot of that help comes through therapeutically in the form of music. Sully Erna is a musical genius in my opinion. The music he sings coupled with his voice.. perfection. Everything that God smacked did in the later years and when he went solo.\n\n A different kind of tears is another one I highly suggest anybody that\'s struggling with addiction or has beat addiction or even wants to understand a little bit more.. check it out. It\'s very accurate. Happy new year everybody. Stay safe.

I hear "mumbo jumbo" chanting. And this is exactly what the lyrics is all about. Like everything that came from Sully Erna. I can't stop wondering why people buy into him as he puts no meaning into his work. Oh yes he is a sinner. A sinner to music and arts being an honest endeavor.

Dude, you're totally trolling. Go away.

You're free to say whatever you want about the song.

But, at the same time, you have to understand that simply because you fail to see the meaning in something doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one.

Why do people buy into Lady "Gag-Me"? Now days much of the music people are so into is PERFORMED by no-talent artists that are really good at causing scandal after scandal that has the general public mezmerized. It takes dedication to master ONE musical instrument, much less drums, guitar, harmonica, percussion, piano...need I go on? I'd say he is far from being a bunch of "mumbo jumbo"-I'd go so far as to say he has a gift. To quote David Alan Coe, "boy can you make folks feel what you feel inside?" Sully Erna CAN. And he can do it...
