Whenever I hear this song, my thoughts always jump straight to Marvel's character Ghost Rider, especially if you know the background each one has. Each one has a person they love (the right) but they always are swept by the power of the Rider and do the wrong (commit a sin whether it be killing or in Johnny Blazes case, cures his fathers cancer only to have him die later) and how they hope to be free of their curse. Then the "heaven's closed for what I have done..." is their thoughts knowing that all the death they have brought means they may never find true peace.
