(Spoken)
"First the earth cooled
Then the dinosaurs came
Some species survived
Most didn’t
Now life is as we know it on the planet."

I’ve seen a lot of things come and go
I’ve seen a lot of things stick around
Some people look to outer space
There are others that are earthly bound
We got rockers in the USA
We got soccer in Paraguay
We got Holland in wooden shoes
Sumo wrestlers reading Nippon news

Still there’s one thing that I found
There ain’t nothing like solid ground
Places to go in the universe
But you know it’s where we started first

On the planet
On the planet
On the planet

Once the world, they thought was flat
Now we know where the planet’s at
John Glenn went around in three
And now the shuttle takes you and me
By plane, boat or motor car
Land to ocean, skies to stars
Light years from the past
Till we know where we are at last

Still there’s one thing that I found
There ain’t nothing like solid ground
Rock and roll in the universe
But you know it’s where we started first

On the planet
On the planet
On the planet

(Spoken)
"Freeways
Troglodytes
Industrial dinosaurs
Techno evolution"

Still there’s one thing that I found
There ain’t nothing like solid ground
Places to go in the universe
But you know it’s where we started first

On the planet
On the planet
On the planet

On the planet
(Spoken) "We’ve been here a while"

On the planet
(Spoken) "Seems we’ve got our own style"

On the planet
(Spoken) "I’ve been lookin’ around, too"

On the planet

(Spoken) "There ain’t another one around like you babe"
On the planet

(Spoken) "I own the fastest car"
On the planet

(Spoken) "This dude plays the meanest guitar"
On the Planet

On the planet
(Spoken) "I ain’t seen nothin’ better out there"

On the Planet
(Spoken) "So let’s give our planet a little more care"

This song is generally about keeping a healty balance of exploring other worlds, yet making sure we do right by the one we live on. We can do both if we as race oh humans can make sure every one "on the planet" has access to food, water, education, and heath care.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
