Sudden Death Lyrics

His evil highness born from disaster
To dominate and kill
A glistening murder machine
False majesty, standing perfectly still
A blitzkrieg raining down evil
On a mountain of black ice
Like a good old fashioned beating within
Inches of your life?

While alone and left abandoned
With the sentence You've been handed
All your angels will ignore you
As your life flashes before you
Even still you keep on fighting
Through the thunder and the lightning
And now Heaven sends it's love
Your sudden death from above

Once frozen like a prisoner depraved
Perched high atop the lithosphere
Set free from beneath the depths of hell
Bequeathing anything but despair
The beast is genetically programmed
Time to destroy, time to go berserk
To see the end of all wars
To see the end of the earth

Stopping at nothing, punch drunk
From the blood that he's tasted
Tearing our soul apart
Not one bit of your pain will be wasted
Now death descends upon you
Like a bloody white dove
Bringing your retribution
Your sudden death from above

While alone and left abandoned
With the sentence You've been handed
All your angels will ignore you
As your life flashes before you
Even still you keep on fighting
Through the thunder and the lightning
And now Heaven sends it's love
Your sudden death from above

Don't you guys realizing this song is a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne? It's pretty obvious

"His evil highness born from disaster"

Ozzy's band, Black Sabbath, used to be a blues band called Earth, but then he turned evil and formed the first metal band in existence.

"Set free from beneath the depths of hell"

Ozzy is the Prince Of Darkness after all. In fact Prince Of Darkness is another song that Dave wrote as a Homage to Ozzy, so you can tell this isn't the first time he wrote a song like this

"The beast is genetically programmed"

Normal people would be dead by the time they hit Ozzy's age due to all the drugs and alcohol he's had, but Ozzy is strangely still alive. This is Dave's theory for why that is.

"Now death descends upon you Like a bloody white dove"

I'm sure we all remember that time Ozzy bit the head of a Dove.

Now that I've cleared up the meaning of this song, I'm sure you are all ever so greatful. I'll be modest though, because I only explain these things to people because I can. Your welcome!

(Or maybe I just made all of that up :P)

Yeah... It fits on satan pretty well. But did you know that this song is dedicated for Guitar Hero: Warriors of rock? While you play this song, you battle the last boss. The boss is a giant machine that have defeted a demi god, and I think that that machine is in thought in this song.

One of the best from Mustaine <3

I think the lyrics are notmythical(murder machine and all that), but its somewhat more personal... The feel that i got from it was that someone is trying to fight all the miseries and troubles in his life (much like mustaine) and is fights bravely 'through the thunder and the lightning' but in the end he fails, disaster strikes him.. the line ' your angels will ignore you........and heaven sends its love, your sudden death from above ' is an implication to unanswered prayers

Great song.

I think the lyrics are kind of self-explanatory. A merciless killing machine released from Hell and living high above the Earth. Freed again from a prison of ice, it's now on a mission to eradicate the human race. And there's nothing they can do but keep trying to fight back until their pain is ended.

Song Meaning

This song is one of my favorite's Megadeth singles.

As for the meaning, I don't know why, but the chorus reminds me so much of the Satan in the first book of Paradise Lost:

While alone and left abandoned With the sentence You've been handed All your angels will ignore you As your life flashes before you Even still you keep on fighting Through the thunder and the lightning And now Heaven sends it's love Your sudden death from above

My Interpretation

False majesty standing perfectly still...yep, I would agree that this is describing Satan/Lucifer...the ultimate consumer of the very marrow of the soul and one of Milton's key players in Paradise Lost...musically it's Megadeth back in action bringing it old school like "Peace Sells"...I like this album better than Endgame - darker and more relevant to all the chaos going on right now.

While alone and left abandoned (in a proson cell) With the sentence You've been handed (guilty) All your angels will ignore you (god cant save you now) As your life flashes before you Even still you keep on fighting (struggling and resisting) Through the thunder and the lightning And now Heaven sends it's love (heaven being the guillotine blade) Your sudden death from above

in essence its a song about a king who has commited a crime and is sentenced to death by guillotine

Cover art for Sudden Death lyrics by Megadeth

death by guillotine seems to make sense when those verses are read, but being genetically programmed, and the lines 'to see the end of all wars, to see the end of the Earth', fits more to the Devil or some kind of machine..it is probably about some kind of imaginary killing machine, like said above..

@nethero lol..
