I think the meaning of this song is quite clear, No matter what happens in life, love will keep you going!

I think the song just tells us exaclly what they see love as, showing that love isn't about relationships about the love between children and their parents. It also shows us what love should be, it should be about protecting somebody and doing anything for someone and why we do the things in life that others may think is stupid, but they do it for love. It talks about love keeping us going even if it does knock us down.

It's beautiful and that is heroic love.
One of my favourites in 'Science & Faith'. This song shows that love isn't always about a relationship between a pair of lovers. It can also be about the love between children and parents. Love should always exist no matter what happens. It doesn't matter if love causes pain because true love will bring us back up again. Love is worth it.
i think this song means even after everything that heartbreak brings us. it is still worth it. love is still worth it. "this is why we do it.. this is worth the pain.. this is why we fall down and get back up again." it's worth it to get your heart broken if you truly find it (love.)
I completely agree that this song has to be about love. But this kind of love is different. Throughout the entire song this love is being labeled as either "this" or "it's". At the end of the first verses however a chorus comes in play and defines this as love. Clearly we realized this as the name of the song is This=Love. But that leaves us to figure out what is this love that they wrote about. My personal opinion is that love is the love of God.
