How could anyone NOT possible comment on this?? This is one of the best songs of MCR if not THE best by them. To me honestly, i think its about a guy who's given everything for the person they love and all the while, she hasn't loved them back the way he had hope. "Remember when you broke your foot from jumping out the second floor"

• That person remember all the time something bad or serious has happened to their love and they have been for them. However, the she has not been loved back, their relationship has just been one of friendship while for her it has been so much for for him. So she asks him -are you okay?- and he finally tells her the truth -

this is one of the best songs of all time, ever written, and the second best music video ever, next to tear you apart by she wants revenge, or is it these things, idk one of those songs, but this is an amazing song, the way it describs life and love. it is so awesome when ever i am down i listen to MCR and they bring me up.

MCR SAVED MY LIFE

This song is about how he only had one friend through high school and it was the girl he liked, and then how she betrayed him by taking pictures of him with her boyfriend. and how it hurt him. it's a very hateful, he was betrayed by someone he really cared about that didn't feel the same way back.

Absolutely my favorite. I felt horrible last night cuz I've been going through a hard time with one of my friends. I listened to this song again and again. I feel so much better now.

I looooove this song. Its the ultimate song that gets you in the mood to just not care about anything/anyone. Whatever problem I have I can just listen to this and know I'm not alone and realize that really, it's not that big a deal. The music video ROCKS and I love all the "if you ever felt wrong", "if you ever felt used", "if you ever felt dirty" stuff because anybody who watches that video has felt one of those things (i know ive felt more than one). to me, this song makes it ok to scream IM NOT OK AND I WANT TO F**K THE WORLD CAUSE I JUST DONT CARE!!!!! :)

Wow. I never understood what this song was talking about until just recently and oddly enough im going through the same thing.

This was my absolute favorite song when I was in high school, because I was living it. I felt miserable and like I was eking out a meager existence. I was infatuated with a girl who never returned my affection. She would tell me that she envied my being single, and I wanted to explain to her the soul-crushing loneliness I felt. Instead, however, I kept my composure and feigned contentedness, but I was not okay.

I don't speak to her anymore, I have dropped out of high school, and those days are far in the past. While my future may be uncertain, I can say without a doubt that I am much better off today than I was then.

In the music video, I believe that when Gerard is cut off by the beginning of the song, he is about to say, "I just want to live." When you're in high school, it sometimes seems like all you can do just to survive.

In this song, a boy loves a girl very much, and she likes him as well, but not enough to break up with her boyfriend to be with only him. The two sneak around, and continue to do so though her boyfriend has nearly caught them multiple times ("Remember when you broke your foot from jumping out the second floor"). But there is jealousy when the boy sees the girl with her boyfriend ("For all the dirty looks, the photographs your boyfriend took"). His many attempts at convincing her to break off her relationship with her boyfriend fall short ("What will it take to show you that it's not the life it seems"). He finally tells her he will no longer sneak around ("I held you close as we both shook for the last time, Take a good hard look") because it wears him out to deal with the secrecy ("You wear me out"). She makes attempts at charming him into staying, but he no longer falls for her acts ("Another line without a hook"). But he is still heartbroken ("I'm not okay"), because he did love her very much. As much as he tells her he is all right ("But you really need to listen to me, because I'm telling you the truth, I mean this, I'm okay, trust me"), he is not.

I believe this song is Gerard obviously stating he's not okay, trying to make it absolutely obvious that he is just not okay, the part in this song when it says "you sing the words but don't know what it means" this to me seems like he is saying he's written all these songs about his struggle but you don't understand the struggle, but you will still sing along to the songs because they sound good, this whole song to me is about how fame can be a bitch basically, gerard thinks that everyone thinks he's okay, when in reality it's an act and he is NOT OKAY.
