This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
I fell asleep amongst the boulders strewn between
Glyder Fach and Glyder Fawr
And I saw in a dream
Your charmless associates in a stretch limousine
They were plunging headlong into a ravine
And your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing
Came the behemoth, seven score and nine
To rescue all the children from their parents on the line
And they took them to a crash site
Unfurled a ball of twine
And tied a bunch of flowers around the speed limit sign
No more the Multiplex
Stood in its stead
Pleasure grounds with maze in the shape of a sled
Outside the Gielgud, a neon sign read:
“Equus On The Buses”, starring Mr Ed
And your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing
And a plague fell upon the Retail Park
And a storm broke over Henman Hill
And the christening party arsehole
Who hitherto had blurred
My conception of man as nature’s final word
Was fleeing from the lava
His SatNav pleading thus:
“I’m not from round here mate, you should have got the bus”
Enter then a real rat pack
Millions pouring in
And Ezekiel punched Dan Brown
And the nights are drawing in
And your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing had been cancelled
Your Evening of Swing

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
Blue
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
i think this song is about armageddon i cant remember how it comes about in the bible but here it starts with someone dreaming and the rest of the song is like a modern prophesy warning - a consumer culture postmodernist Book of Revelation!!!
about how its really gonna ruin the day of some jumped up middle class leisure society twats cos it means they wont be able to go to the evening of swing they had arranged with their middle class twat mates!!
its a ludicrous premise for a song and yet the whole thing is somehow perfect
that last verse is awesome -
the idea of the party arsehole being jsut such a complete prize one, that it makes you question humanities position at the pinicle of evolution - and then his satnav turns on him too telling him to shove it while he's in desperate terror
and then as its the END OF TIMES - Ezekiel has been waiting to punch dan brown in the face - hahaha
